OPINION: Chadwick Boseman is a reminder colon cancer can strike young men

In 2018 the American Cancer Society changed it's recommended age for colorectal cancer screening from 50 to 45 years old. Aetna is the only major health insurance company that has started covering screening colonoscopy for people when they turn 45. So if you have Aetna you can get coverage for screening 5 years earlier than most people.

We pride ourselves in providing unparallelled service and quality in gastroenterology care, providing colonoscopy, EGD (upper endoscopy) and a complete colon cancer screening program. Most procedures are conducted in our Medicare accredited, state-of-the-art Endoscocopy Center, providing our patients cost savings and a soothing environment.

As a gold standard endorsed by The American Cancer Society, it is recommended that everyone 50 years old get a colonoscopy to minimize their risk. For those with a family history, it is advised to begin colonoscopy screening at 40. For our patients' comfort, we now offer Painless Colonoscopy, providing the most comprehensive colon cancer screening with advanced sedation, allowing patients to sleep soundly through their procedure with rapid recovery time afterward. Colonoscopy is covered by most major insurance including Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE.
