Eldercare At Home is so grateful to partner with Veterans Care Coordination to help eligible veterans and their surviving spouses receive in-home care paid for by a special Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefit. The partnership helps veterans access the VA's Pension with Aid and Attendance benefit, which provides financial assistance to cover the cost of care services.

This collaborative effort helps veterans navigate a complex application process to secure the financial support they are entitled to.

Position: Full Time Service Coordinator

Location: Eldercare At Home | Office-based in Wilmington
| Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Participation in on-call rotation

Compensation: Based on Experience + On-Call Stipend & Hourly Rate

About Us:

We are looking for a Full-Time Service Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring clients receive timely, quality care. If you are organized, people-focused, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to meet you!

Responsibilities:

● Schedule client services, matching field employees to clients’ needs

● Communicate regularly with clients, their families, and staff to ensure satisfaction and smooth service delivery.

● Maintain strong relationships with clients, families, field staff, and referral sources.

● Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately.

● Assist with the hiring and onboarding of new employees.

● Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call rotation (with additional pay).

What We’re Looking For:

Education:
High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred

Experience:
● 2–3+ years in service coordination or a similar role in home care, healthcare, or senior services.
● Strong background in high-volume scheduling and last-minute coverage adjustments.
● Customer service and sales experience are highly preferred.

Skills:
● Excellent phone, communication, and interpersonal skills.
● Problem-solving abilities under pressure with quick decision-making.
● Ability to multitask and stay organized while managing competing priorities.
● Proficiency in computer systems; scheduling software experience preferred.
● Flexibility to participate in the on-call rotation.

Eldercare At Home remembers and honors Carroll Herring, our founder, who would have turned 89 today. 🎂🩷

In 1973, Carroll founded the very first home care agency in Wilmington, NC. She has left a tremendous legacy and was proud knowing Eldercare At Home continues to carry on her commitment and passion for serving the needs of our community. Carroll touched the lives of so many and will be remembered for her strong leadership, guidance and faith.

Our ongoing work is a direct continuation of her foundational vision.

We are happy to announce our Employee Spotlight is Dot Colson.

Dot has been a CNA at Eldercare at Home since December 2018. Over the past seven years, Dot has proven time and time again that she is loyal, committed to her role as caregiver and loved by her clients. Dot always supports and encourages those she is caring for and makes them feel important.

In her spare time, she likes to garden, cook and spend time with her friends. One of her dear friends is 96 years old and they enjoy each other's company any chance they get.

The advice that Dot would pass on to anyone new to Eldercare at Home or going into the home care field is “Get to know your clients so you can care for them in many ways.” Dot is one who likes to work smarter than harder. We love your efficient mindset Dot!!
