I help children, adolescents, and adults who are having difficulty with adjustments or have experienced trauma by providing mindfulness based and trauma focused cognitive therapy with presence, acceptance, and compassion.

I also help parents and families who struggle to understand and connect with their children by providing parenting coaching that is positive, goal-oriented, and easily applicable with your children.

I also provide opportunities for small group yoga and meditation for individuals who may have been apprehensive about trying classes before; as well as yoga specific for mental health and continuing education classes.

Unmanaged chronic stress can lead to anger, relationship issues, family discord, and even anxiety or depression. The best way to make sure that you can take care of everyone else is to take care of yourself first! And one way to take care of yourself is by finding support from other guys going through similar stuff.

Group members should expect to participate in conversation to the extent that they feel comfortable, provide feedback for other group members, and learn and practice effective strategies for managing stress.

More often than not, drug addictions start with an experimental use of a drug in social situations. And for some people, the drug use becomes more frequent. As time passes, a person may feel the need to use more of a drug to get their desired high, and soon a person may need the drug to simply feel “good.”

Within addiction counseling, the symptoms of addiction will be addressed and the related areas of impaired functioning, and therapist and client will structure the time and content for ongoing recovery.

He says, "In a nutshell, being sober curious is having the option to choose, question or change one’s substance use for physical or mental health reasons [...] There is still a lot of stigma about substance use being a “moral” problem or something that is a bad reflection upon the individual."

Choosing to cut out drugs and alcohol from your life, or even just a night, a week, a month, or however long, don't mean you are sacrificing anything. It is truly an opportunity for you to be in your natural state of mind and that is beautiful! Especially if you feel as though those substances are controlling you in any way. Choosing to be sober is an opportunity to take back that control! It may not be easy, but there are folks that can be there to support you. ⁠

Every 62 minutes someone in the US dies as a result of complications from an eating disorder. Eating disorders are a persistent and growing concern in our community, and symptoms are often present starting in adolescents.

It is also important to note that disordered eating occurs on a spectrum from normative eating with a healthy body image to disordered patterns of eating and finally ending in a clinical eating disorder. Many adolescents and adults report struggling with body image, preoccupation with weight, and have a history of dieting. These patterns of behavior are important to be aware of and may be an ideal time for individuals to seek help. Best practices for health care would include working collaboratively with a medical provider, therapist, and nutritionist to safely change behaviors.
