Amy Pierce is a North Carolina native and owner of Massage Therapy for Women, a private practice for women in all stages of life. She graduated from Coastal Carolina Institute’s Massage Therapy program in 2002. in Modern Dance from UNCSA and was a professional dancer and teacher for 14 years. Her dance experience has brought knowledge of kinesiology, alignment, and injuries, and an innate fluidity, to her work. In her massages, Amy incorporates Swedish, Neuro Muscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, stretching, Myofascial Release, elements of energy work, and strokes inspired by Esalen massage. In 2003, Amy opened her practice and in 2004, became certified in Whitney Lowe’s Orthopedic Massage and Claire Marie Miller’s Nurturing the Mother® Pregnancy, Postpartum and Fertility Massage, Nurturing the Pregnant Couple® labor workshops, and Integrative Reflexology®, and attended her Menopause Massage class. From 2007-2019, Amy assisted Claire in her Nurturing the Mother® certification classes, teaching other massage professionals. Since 2008, Amy has been an instructor and CEU trainer for Baby’s First Massage®. A nurturer at heart, Amy loves assisting clients in their own healing processes as well as teaching them to share the profound benefits of touch with their own loved ones. She has taught partners to massage each other, and parents to massage their children, from birth through the teen years. Amy is grateful to be continuing on this overwhelmingly rewarding journey.
