I was taught to believe that God is a man with a beard in the sky
But I don’t think that’s entirely true and I’ll tell you why
A God defined is a God confined
If you sit with that thought, you too may find
A man in the heavens, sure he may be
But try, if you will, to also see
God is grasshopper, buffalo, water, wind, tree, sky, day and night…
To call him one thing doesn’t feel right
He is nothing and everything, he’s infinite you’ll see
God is he, God is she, God is you and God is me
A riddle for all ages, not meant to be solved
A great mystery to experience, to help us evolve
To open our hearts and expand our minds
To bring us together as one humankind
I was brought up to believe God is a man living in the heavens above
Of that I’m not sure, but what I do know is, God is LOVE
