"This was my first big project in the hospice space, and I couldn’t be more proud that it has officially begun! I can’t wait to bring more puppy love and smiles to assisted living communities throughout the Lowcountry area!" – Skyler Flippen, Marketing Manager, MUSC Health Hospice at Home by BAYADA

In partnership with MUSC's PAWS (Patient Animal Wellness Service) Pet Therapy Program, our MUSC Health Hospice at Home by BAYADA team hosted their very first pet therapy visit with the residents at Kempton of Charleston.

Coco the pup brought joy, laughter, and comfort to everyone she met. ❤️

A special thank-you to Cathy Bennett, Therapy Animal Coordinator from the PAWS Program at MUSC, for making this meaningful moment possible!

Please join us in this important time of advocacy.

On August 13th, North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) shared that they may need to reduce Medicaid funding to programs starting October 1, 2025. This is because of a $319 million shortfall in the Medicaid budget. If nothing changes, funding could be cut by 3-10%, affecting all Medicaid services, including home care.

DHHS made it clear: they don’t want to cut funding, but they feel they have no other choice unless lawmakers step in with more money to make up for the shortfall.

Why this matters:

Cuts like these could make it harder for people to get the home care services they need as providers will need to figure out how to accommodate with less resources. That’s why it’s so important that we work together to protect access to these essential programs.

How H4HC is responding:

Hearts for Home Care is already meeting with partners and putting together a plan to take strong, coordinated action. Lawmakers return to Raleigh on August 26, and we will be ready.

How you can help:

Right now, the best thing you can do is get others involved. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues to register as a Hearts for Home Care advocate. This will keep them informed and ready to take action when we need everyone’s voices the most.

BAYADA client Jaxon and his brother Liam share a special bond. Recently, Liam visited our Mount Laurel, NJ office to see how we train caregivers to provide inclusive care, all as part of earning his Disability Awareness merit badge as a Boy Scout.

Liam gained firsthand experience and learned creative ways to help make life more accessible for Jaxon, like designing a wheelchair-accessible sprinkler system.

We’re proud of Liam for showing how acts of love and kindness can help create a welcoming and supportive environment for people with disabilities in our communities. ❤️

Is today the day to stop doing what doesn't inspire you, but has become a habit?
Is today the day to begin new projects and a new way of life that truly inspires you?
Are your habits moving you toward your life goals?
Or are they keeping you stuck in place?

“I chose the Advance to LPN program because it offered a great support system, which I especially needed throughout nursing school. The support and coaching I received were amazing. The team checked in monthly, and whenever I had questions, I always got an immediate response. I’ve been worry-free about the loans I took out for school and was able to focus fully on my career. Working alongside BAYADA and participating in the LPN program has been a great experience.” – Anyely, BAYADA Nurse

Anyely recently graduated as an LPN through the Advance to LPN Scholarship Program, and we’re proud of her journey from caregiver to nurse. 👏

Start your journey and take the next step in your nursing career like Anyely! The application window is open until November 13, 2025. Get started here: bhhc.co/4eiW1sG

“While interviewing a home health aide in New York, she casually mentioned that she had once worked for BAYADA and that years ago, she was even nominated as a HERO! Naturally, we had to check our office HERO wall, and there she was.

The moment she saw her name, she was shocked—not just that it was still there, but that we remembered. I assured her that at BAYADA, once a HERO, always a HERO.” – Aleah Rivera, BAYADA Director

Our BAYADA Heroes set the standard for the caregivers who come after them. It’s a reminder of how much their work matters and how proud we are of all they do for our community. ❤️

“Moments like these reinforce what makes BAYADA special: Clients come first, and clinicians are our greatest asset. It’s inspiring to see leadership and frontline care unite to strengthen the mission we all share.” - Candace Rydgren, BAYADA Clinical Nurse Manager

BAYADA Director Joseph Zazworskey and Chief Researcher of Home Care Innovation, Michael P. Johnson, joined field clinicians to hear firsthand insights about the realities of care delivery. Together, they engaged in meaningful conversations about field experiences, barriers to care, and opportunities to close gaps.

By listening, learning, and acting together, we can continue to put our clients first and support the clinicians who care for them every day. ❤️

Before becoming a BAYADA nurse, Meredith held several leadership roles within BAYADA. After stepping away from those roles, she began a new journey to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Following her graduation, she joined our Nurse Residency Program and completed the specialized trach/vent residency, deepening her clinical skills.

Meredith’s commitment to professional growth has expanded her expertise in caring for higher-acuity home care clients. We’re so proud of her perseverance, dedication, and passion for leading with heart to make a lasting impact on our community! ❤️

After nearly three months in rehabilitation following a fall earlier this year, BAYADA client Domingo is finally home—thanks to the dedicated support of our Newton, MA, care team.

Director Matt Guerra, Clinical Manager Allison Penta, Divisional Client Services Manager Alison Drew, and Johnny Carranza went above and beyond to make his homecoming special. From coordinating equipment deliveries and restocking his kitchen to cleaning, rearranging his space, and surprising him with his favorite meal, their efforts ensured a smooth and joyful return.

Additional care from our North Boston team, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and visiting nursing services, is helping Domingo stay safe and supported at home.

We’re so proud of our teams for going the extra mile to welcome Domingo back with compassion and care. ❤️
