“I started screaming. You know, it was overwhelming, it was like that happy, that rainbow, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that’s what it felt like,” said Vinson.

I want to ask everyone to share the good news! We will soon have a permanent new home. Never did we think 2024 would be our last year at the Basilica nor did we think we would be shown so much support. We are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community! Christmas miracles really do exist!

St. Mary Health Center will purchase a new location after being awarded a $695,000 grant from the New Hanover County Community Endowment. Last month, the health center was forced to leave its original location at the Basilica of St. Mary. Read the article below.

People should learn to think independently, not just relying on what anyone says including a pastor, priest or preachers. Do your homework, the space the clinic was in, is not adequate for a school. The church has moved away from their outreach mission to the sick, if all fails ask what would Jesus do? The thousands of patients who were receiving care are thankful no doubt about it, please do not be ignorant and say the clinic should be thankful for the time we had there, the only loosers here are the many that will suffer without us. We advocated for months so they might not be faced with our current situation. Asking them to let us remain until we could have an easier transition was not a big ask. People need to stop following like sheep & learn to ask the right questions.

Three weeks ago, St. Mary Health Center leadership found out they would have to vacate the property by Wednesday, Nov. 20.

10/19/2024

The move comes after church leaders changed the locks to the health center, preventing staff from being able to get in.

"They claim the judge said that we were guests here. The order was very specific. The eviction notice that they issued to us was dismissed."

That’s why we’re proud to back organizations like St. Mary Health Center. Their recent grant of $60,000 will increase the capacity and capability of the health center, including supplies and hiring a part-time assistant.

So many inaccuracies with this statement. The Dental clinic never left, we've been here for 30+ yrs now. Fr. Thomas Davis has NEVER visited the clinic, even when invited by one of our most dedicated Oral Surgeon Dr. Doug DeGroote. Yes, we did get an insurance policy and were told we could potentially stay the time we needed to secure funding and another space. When the policy was presented to the Basilica we were told it was not adequate enough and we would e hearing from their big law firm that was hired to represent them. Our legal representative is Randall Hoose, he is helping us pro-bono. What a shame for the lies to continue.
