Dear KidzCare Families,

2020 and 2021 has been an unprecedented time. COVID-19 and the Delta Variant carries a heavy emotional and stressful load for our patients and staff.

As your pediatric healthcare team our commitment remains the same:
Balancing our patients healthcare needs and supporting our staff and their families whom are also impacted by the pandemic.

Awareness, understanding and compassion serve as top priorities for all KidzCare team members. Since 2003 our delivery of care to the pediatric communities of North Carolina has been unwavering and will continue to be as we head into 2022. As of today, Pediatricians have seen a 240% increase in pediatric CVOID-19 and Delta Variant within our patient families that include our individual team members/families.

Internally, KidzCare is fighting COVID-19 and the Delta Variant beside of our patient families. We have faced 9 KidzCare provider’s testing positive and double/triple digits in other support team members and their pediatric/adult family members who are on the road to recovery from COVID-19 and the Delta Variant, all fighting the virus beside of our patient families. The impact of COVID-19 and the Delta Variant has hit our KidzCare providers with substantial force.

Supporting our “KidzCare Healthcare Angels” is now embedded into our mission. Our “KidzCare Healthcare Angels” place themselves last and our patients first. We ask for your “GRACE”. Grace with understanding and patience during the continual and difficult days of COVID-19 and the Delta Variant in our pediatric community.

We apologize for any delay with scheduling your families appointments or longer than normal wait times. Volume has been remarkably high due to the virus and we understand frustrations will present.

Please be patient with us and we thank you for allowing KidzCare to be your chosen pediatrician. Our plea is simple, WE LOVE KIDZ (your families or those of our staff members), we ask for your understanding as we navigate to keep all families healthy.

Together we will get through these challenging times as we keep a forward momentum to eradicate the virus.

All the best,

Ashok Jain, MD

Dear Kidzcare Covid 19 warriors and parents,
it’s a privilege to share updates and excellent news on Covid 19 vaccines

-FDA Approved Pfizer-Bio ntech vaccine for covid 19 last week and it’s being distributed and administered to front line health care professionals.

https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine

I was one of the fortunate ones to receive this on Dec 17, 2020 at 7am, it’s been more than 30 hours and am doing well with slight heaviness in head, very mild body ache, very mild soreness at Injection site. I worked 12 hours yesterday with site visits to Leland/ Wilmington /Hampstead and am working today. So far so good.
Am sharing the picture and proof of vaccinations to encourage you all to get one as soon as it’s available to you all.

In the mean time FDA advisory committee has approved emergency use authorization for Moderna Covid vaccine yesterday and hoping for final approval from fda by Saturday.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/time.com/5922752/moderna-covid-19-vaccine-fda-recommendation/%3famp=true

The Moderna Covid vaccine should be ready for shipment/ distribution and administration through health departments by next week if approved by fda tomorrow.

With these 2 vaccines and another one to come in Jan shall give us enough fire power to defeat this deadly virus which has created a havoc Around the world with this-pandemic.

Hope this info is of help and encourage you all to take this vaccine for your self and your loved ones in the new year. We will keep you posted on further developments and till then let us all stay safe.

Wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Ashok Jain

Healthy Children

Heading outside for some wintertime fun is a great way for kids to get the 60 minutes of daily exercise they need. But children are more at risk from the cold than adults. Covid Diaries: Clayton Ga.
.
Adversity brings with it opportunity. Those that seize it and use it to craft innovation and improvement are those we can rely on during difficult times. That is what we found when we visited the front line health care providers at KidzCare Pediatrics.
.
Brittany Arnett commented, “We researched breaking news in between patients and at home and kept up with daily corporate emails, problem-solved aggressively, daily. Our entire office layout was rearranged and moved to include an isolation room and keep traffic through the office to a minimum. We separated well visits and newborn visits in the morning when the office (and our scrubs) are freshly cleaned. Sick patients, now grouped together in the afternoon, rarely even enter the building anymore; its safer for them to pull into the carport and stay outside while we bring vitals equipment, swabs and the physical exam to them.”
Brittany also told us that due to some removal of barriers to healthcare, they are now offering Telehealth video services.
.
Office Manger, Jami Davis Bradley capstones the conversation with this, “Usually, things like this will break people, scare them away from stepping up. Not our office. This has brought us together and made us a stronger team. No one from this office has had a second thought about helping our littles. We are scared, but we are here for them.”

To keep our immune system at its best during these unprecedented times, we need to be eating all the fruits and veggies that we can! Water is also SO important to keep all the little cells in our body at their best health also. Sometimes it is hard to get kiddos to drink water over juice. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting juice intake in kids (see the following link for full recommendation).

This is a great way to incorporate kids and teach about choosing healthy options. Fill up a pitcher of plain drinking water. Have your kiddo choose their favorite fruit (or fruits) to make a new mixture. Cut up fruits and allow kiddos to help by putting fruit in the pitcher and stirring.

This allows kiddos to be involved which they often love and will be more excited to try the water since they helped to make it!

Have a great Saturday! Stay home and stay healthy! 😃
