NASA Invites Dr. Fuhr to Join Upcoming Lunar Mission as Onboard Chiropractor
Houston, TX — In a surprising and innovative move, NASA announced today that Dr. Fuhr has been officially invited to join astronauts on the agency’s upcoming April 1st, 2026 lunar mission.
Following extensive evaluation of long-duration spaceflight conditions, NASA’s medical and performance teams concluded that spinal health and neuromuscular balance could play a critical role in astronaut comfort and efficiency during extended travel. As a result, the agency determined that including a chiropractic specialist on board would be a forward-thinking addition to the crew.
Dr. Fuhr, widely recognized for his pioneering work in instrument-assisted chiropractic care, will bring along the renowned Activator Instrument—an adjusting tool celebrated for its precision, reliability, and efficiency. Notably, the instrument’s compact size, lightweight design, and lack of required external power make it uniquely suited for space travel.
“Every ounce and every watt matters in space,” said a NASA spokesperson. “The Activator Instrument checks all the boxes—it’s efficient, portable, and remarkably effective. It’s a natural fit for the mission.”
In addition to its practical advantages, NASA officials emphasized their enthusiasm for supporting American-made innovation. The Activator Instrument, developed and manufactured in the United States, represents decades of engineering excellence and clinical success.
“Supporting a made-in-USA company on a mission of this magnitude aligns perfectly with our values,” the spokesperson added. “Activator has long been a leader in instrument adjusting here on Earth, and now it has the opportunity to become the first chiropractic instrument used in space.”
Dr. Fuhr expressed excitement about the opportunity, noting the unique challenges—and possibilities—of delivering chiropractic care in a zero-gravity environment.
“This is truly uncharted territory,” Dr. Fuhr said. “We’re not just advancing healthcare—we’re redefining it beyond Earth.”
As the countdown to launch continues, anticipation is building around what could be one of the most unconventional additions to a space mission in history.
