Congratulations to our Inaugural Recipient of the Carole Hamilton Scholarship , Purpose Copeland.
The Carole Hamilton Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Mrs. Carole A. Hamilton A graduate of Jamaica High School, Mrs. Hamilton enrolled at Borough of Manhattan Community College where she received her Associate’s Degree and was a member of its first graduating class. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at the University of Michigan in 1968, and her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Teachers College at Columbia University. She was a lifelong educator, having served the students of New York City public schools for over 33 years. She was kind, generous, and giving, and treated every student as if they were her own. Mrs. Hamilton believed that every child should have the opportunity to achieve their dreams, and she worked tirelessly to ensure that this was possible. A donation to I Am B.E.A.U.T.Y. has been given in her name so that her work can continue.
The recipient of this scholarship receives a computer , headphones , keyboard and computer cover , I AM BEAUTY Box and participation in the S.O.A.R. Girl! Program
