One thing life has taught me over and over is this:

Hurt people very often try to hurt people.

Bullying usually says far more about what is broken inside the person doing it than the person receiving it. Happy people do not spend their time humiliating others. Whole people do not wake up looking for someone to tear apart.

And honestly, in a world already carrying so much grief, anxiety, trauma, addiction, loneliness, and pain… kindness matters more than ever.

Words matter.
Humiliation matters.
Exclusion matters.

Especially now when so many people are barely holding themselves together behind the scenes.

At Face the Facts DE we talk a lot about stigma, and bullying is just another form of it. Sometimes it shows up in schools. Sometimes online. Sometimes inside families. Sometimes in how society talks about addiction, recovery, mental health, homelessness, or grief.

People heal better in safe spaces.
People survive better when they feel seen instead of shamed.

Teach your kids kindness.
Teach accountability.
Teach empathy.
And honestly… practice it ourselves too.

You never really know what battle somebody is fighting quietly.

Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day.

And the truth is, fentanyl has changed everything.

This is no longer a conversation about “certain kinds of people” or “certain neighborhoods.” Families from every background, every income level, every school district, and every community have been impacted by this crisis.

Fentanyl is odorless.
It is tasteless.
And in many cases, people do not even know they are taking it.

One pill.
One mistake.
One counterfeit pill purchased online or from someone a person trusted can be enough to end a life forever.

At Face the Facts DE, we need people to understand that education is prevention. Honest conversations save lives. Stigma kills. Silence kills.

Please talk to your kids.
Please carry Narcan.
Please learn the signs of overdose.
Please stop assuming “it could never happen here.”

Because it already is.

And behind every statistic is somebody’s child, parent, sibling, friend, classmate, coworker, or person they loved deeply.

Know the facts.
Have the conversations.
Save lives.
