This case presented with post inflammatory erythema (PIE) and ice pick acne scarring.

PIE occurs when inflammation from acne damages superficial dermal vasculature, leaving behind persistent dilation of capillaries that show up as red or pink marks. Ice pick scars develop when inflammatory lesions destroy collagen deep within the follicular unit.

Acne doesn’t have to be your forever.

I dealt with breakouts from my early teens and honestly believed this was just my skin. I didn’t know any different. Everything changed when I actually learned how skin works and committed to doing things differently.

Trusting the process wasn’t easy. My skin got worse before it got better. The purge lasted longer than I expected, and there were moments I questioned everything. But I didn’t quit.

When my skin is peeling, I’m not embarrassed or trying to hide it. I actually feel kind of proud. To me, it says I take care of my skin and I’m willing to go through the process to get the results I want.

I don’t fixate on the flakes. I keep the end result in mind. Clearer skin, smoother texture, aging in a way that feels really good to me.

Good skin is a journey and this is just part of it. And honestly? I love it. 🥰
