She graduated with top honors from Cornell University and completed her medical training at Mount Sinai in NYC, focusing on research. What to do when you get a sunburn? 🌞 Here are some tips to help relieve the discomfort: (save this post for later because sunburns can happen)
1. Use moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
UV light causes inflammation. That's why it's important to hydrate the skin and help repair the skin barrier as quickly as possible. For the most skin-soothing effects, look for a moisturizer containing aloe, which helps calm burned skin. We also recommend SkinCeuticals Photo Corrective Masque to help rehydrate and soothe.
2. Reduce your skin's inflammation with pills and topicals.
You can treat a sunburn by reducing inflammation by taking over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pill like Advil can help reduce swelling, redness, and any pain. You can also use Cortizone 10 Maximum Strength, which also contains aloe vera.
3. Don't peel your sunburn.
When you peel off dead skin cells prematurely or too soon, living skin can come with it. Peeling your skin can you set up for a poor or prolonged healing, increased irritation and inflammation and even possible infection.
4. Take frequent cool baths or showers to help relieve the pain.
5. Leave your blisters alone. Blistering skin means you have a 2nd degree sunburn. You should never pop the blister/s, as blisters form to help your skin heal and protect you from infection.
6. Use a vitamin C serum for long-lasting free-radical protection. While a burn will heal within a few days, the free-radical damage done by UV rays is forever. UV light promotes the production of free radicals, which harm collagen and elastin, as well as damage the DNA of your skin cells. Using a daily topical Vitamin C will help with free radical protection.
7. Drink plenty of water!
PSA: Most lip balms, glosses and things like Vaseline or Aquaphor do not contain sun protection. In fact, they can increase the likelihood of sunburn and damage. Always look for lip products that have SPF in them!

4 Things to know before getting Laser Tattoo Removal 💥 1. It takes time and MULTIPLE treatments. Your tattoo will turn white during treatment (ink oxidation) but that does not mean that it’s gone! The pigment will return and eventually metabolize out of your body. It takes multiple treatments spaced at LEAST 8 weeks apart so it can take a while to remove your no longer wanted ink. 2. Every Tattoo is Different! The removal process will depend on many things such as how heavy handed the tattoo artist was, the brand of ink, where the tattoo is located on the body, etc. 3. Different lasers target different colors of ink! 4. Stay out of the sun while healing! ☀️ After treatment you may have redness, and tenderness in the area treated.
