A Caring Heart held a masquerade ball on August 29 at the Sampson County Exposition Center in Clinton. DJs Wallace and Monique spun the tunes. Lunch served. Dancing. Some of the individuals made their own masks. Looking good!😍

Jacksonville took a trip to the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum in Harkers Island today. They learned about waterfowl in the area, participated in a scavenger hunt and created craft items. 🦆🪿

Our Jacksonville day program participants and staff went to the CSS Neuse Civil War Museum in Kinston. They watched a video, went on a scavenger hunt all through the museum, and created quilt pieces as a craft activity. Afterwards, they had lunch at Pearson Park.

“Yesterday was such a special milestone for our day program. After all the planning, hard work, and anticipation, we officially moved into our new building! We celebrated this new chapter with a ribbon-cutting ceremony surrounded by so much excitement and joy. Later, we came together to share cake, laughter, and gratitude for how far we’ve come. This move isn’t just about a new space—it’s about growth, opportunity, and creating even more meaningful experiences for the people we support. Here’s to new beginnings and all the memories we’ll make in our new home.”

A Caring Heart lent a hand on Saturday, August 23 at the Inclusive Solutions Golf Fundraiser at the Lane Tree Golf Course in Goldsboro. Our individuals volunteered by greeting, handing out goody bags, and riding on golf carts with the founders to pass out water and snacks to golfers. Our volunteers had a great time. They had their own dance party with the founders, learned to play golf, and played putt putt. Inclusive Solutions was founded by Will Toler, Gavin Velazquez, and James Smith. Inclusive Solutions' mission is to create supportive homes for adults with developmental disabilities and autism, where they can thrive and enjoy independent lives.

Our Smithfield crew baked chocolate chip cookies today. They separated the cookies into three pieces after washing their hands, and putting on gloves. Other skills practiced included reading the instructions to determine how long to cook the cookie dough and at what temperature to cook the cookies. Yum!!!😍
