Time to start the early stuff zone 4b friends!

12ish weeks out...here is what I am starting this week.

Onions. Multi sown (~20 in a 4" pot). Tip: grow in a deep pot so they set amazing roots. Check my stories to see what I mean.

Celery. These little suckered take a LONG time to grow....and once they are in the garden...need a lot of water. Grow at your own peril.

Cucomelons. Most gardeners tell you start these 3-4 weeks before last frost.... but I want to enjoy my cucomelons early and it takes a long time for them to really take off into their chaotic vining habit.

Leeks. I grow the same as the onions I listed above!

Hot peppers. Every year I have started seeds...I have wished I started my hot peppers sooner. This year I am making it happen! Peep in my stories today to see the seed trays I love starting things in.

Made it out to my greenhouse to do some dreaming of the upcoming season.... to fine the realistic fact that my "season" is still primarily one of kiddos! 😅 Glad my greenhouse can also be a winter kid play zone.

But now to get organized for the upcoming growing season!!

New gloves.....or new boots.... I need a mud puddle or something to jump in ~ but there is ice everywhere!

So far animals are cozy with their deep bedding. The farm dog is refusing to come in the house due to coyotes - but she has a heated area to get to. I added plastic to the final window because of ice buildup and a major draft in the bathroom. The fireplace is keeping the house cozy and the basement water hasn’t froze yet.

….How many days until spring?

Kiddos helped get the farmstand open today!

⭐️Duck Eggs
⭐️Loads of Daffodil Bulbs
⭐️Decorative Mini Pumpkins
⭐️Freeze Dried Elderberries
⭐️Black Cap Jam
...we will see what else we come up with to toss out there!

The neighbors across the street have there farmstands open and as well!!

Your little reminder to start drying your herbs. Even if it's tiny harvests. Even if you think it's not enough....it adds up fast.
Second reminder...label them... because once they are dry you may be left guessing! 😅

Farmstand is still open with plenty of plants and duck eggs. Swing on by! The neighbors started a farmstand just to the east of us on N, checkout PWR Creations!

I won't be sad if you wait til after the storms and cold to come get your plants, we still have lots of plants left! Stay safe out there folks!

Working to get plants labeled to hit the farmstand this weekend! We have ornamental perennials, herbs, veggie starts, flowers, seeds and more!

A little helper was hard at work helping pick daffodils for all of our farmstand supporters. Swing by and grab a handful of sunshine!
