It's Week 8 of 29029 training and tomorrow is a 4.25 hour hike (pray for mild weather)
I am sharing this journey weekly through email - if you're not on my list, you should be! Message me your email address to get the weekly updates!
In case you may have missed it - we are using this event to raise both awareness and funds for our ministry services - here's a little more about us and the event:
You have 36 hours to climb 29029 vertical feet - the equivalent height of Mt. Everest.
Hike up the mountain, take the gondola down, and repeat.
Sounds simple, right? In theory, it is. You hike up, ride down, and repeat...until your body gets tired (and boy does it), your mind is spent, the rain, cold, or heat sets in, it's completely dark at 3 a.m., and you are hiking alone up the trail with just your headlamp to light the path...but you keep putting one foot in front of the other, placing your hiking poles into the dirt and keep pushing forward, up the mountain.
29029 isn't just an endurance event, it's a community of amazing humans who want everyone to get the red hat at the end of the final summit.
This year, I am participating in the event at Mt. Tremblant, Canada, September 4-7, 2025. Chris, Avery, and I have attempted Snow Basin, Utah (2023), and Whistler, BC (2024) - with Avery completing her Everest in Whistler last year, earning her the famous red hat that you only get as a finisher. This year, Chris and Avery will be volunteering, and I will be climbing solo to raise awareness and funds for our ministry, The Well - A Holistic Sanctuary (Wholistic Legacy Inc), and our outreach projects that are detailed below.
Each ascent is 2026 vertical feet, covering 1.7 miles...
15 ascents up and 15 gondola rides back to the base for 25.5 miles
We have a lofty goal of raising $50,000. Yes, we know that's big, but we serve a BIGGER GOD and we have complete faith that He can do abundantly more than we can think or imagine.
Through our nonprofit ministry, we are dedicated to bringing holistic well-being to those in need, blending faith-based support with practical resources. One of our greatest missions is offering free community services that provide hope and healing. This includes our Mental Health Coach First Responder program, equipping individuals with immediate care in times of crisis, and our Doula services, offered through our local pregnancy care center to support expecting mothers with compassionate, Christ-centered care.
These services are a lifeline to many in our community who might otherwise face these challenges alone. Whether it’s a woman struggling with an unexpected pregnancy, a family in emotional distress, or an individual in need of encouragement, our ministry stands in the gap, providing love, prayer, and tangible support.
Your tax deductible gift today will directly contribute to transforming lives, strengthening families, and bringing hope where it is needed most.
With deepest gratitude,
Dr. Suzanne Vester
