We had a fun time making chocolate pudding for our Oreo dirt cups in honor of national oreo day today!! We found some yummy gummy worms in our dirt cups too! 😋

Our day program participants are having a blast making mugs and trays with Ms. Amy in the DOI pottery studio! Everyone is doing a wonderful job being creative and using their imagination for this project! 🤩

Our employment services spotlight for February is Sierra!! She has been working as a housekeeper at DOI since November of 2021. We are so proud of her! She does an awesome job keeping our building clean!! 😁

Today we did a gender reveal for Mallory’s baby due this summer! Thank you to Buffy, Margaret, Nancy, and Susan for planning a fun party. Everyone voted boy 💙 or girl 🩷 and then took a bite of their cupcake to see what color filling was inside! 🤩

We have had a great Monday!! 🤩

Taylor helped us learn how to make hummus and hummus turkey pinwheels during our cooking lesson. 👨‍🍳NC State Extension

Jeanne from The Arc of Wilson County taught us about making scientific predictions. We added water, salt, or vinegar to individually wrapped pieces of bread to see how it changes over the course of a week. 🍞

Thank you to Taylor and Jeanne for spending time with us and helping us have a fun start to our week!

Celebrating Valentines Day early at DOI! ❤️💖 We wore red and pink clothes and shared valentine goodies today. Ms. Amy helped everyone make their own heart envelopes in pottery class and we used them to hold everyone’s valentine gifts. 💌

Sharing some photos from our fun day yesterday! Keri with The Arc of Wilson County came and talked about goals for 2026 and Kathy and Josie from Wilson Arts did a paper weaving art project with our day program participants 😆

Jenny and Toshonda have been working hard to crochet beautiful hats and blankets for newborn babies. We are so happy to donate all of these items to Wilson Medical Center. These ladies crocheted 95 hats and blankets and they are thrilled to see them go to loving families. We hope that everyone who receives a hat or blanket loves it!! We couldn’t be prouder of Jenny and Toshonda and their desire to give back to their community. ❤️
