✨ New Smile Reveal! ✨

This young patient started with a crossbite of a permanent front tooth, where one of the upper front teeth was sitting behind the lower teeth. If left untreated, this can lead to uneven wear and long-term damage to the adult teeth. She had an early phase of orthodontic treatment using braces to address this specific concern.

By addressing the issue early, we were able to guide proper alignment and set the foundation for a healthy, confident smile as this patient grows. ⭐️

✨New Smile Reveal!✨

This teen patient completed treatment in one comprehensive phase using braces, a bite-correction appliance, and rubber bands. They initially came to us with a deep bite, where the upper front teeth completely covered the lower front teeth. Over time, this type of bite can lead to excessive wear and chipping of the lower teeth and trauma to the gum tissue.

This patient also had crowding and a bite that didn’t fit together properly in the back. By carefully addressing all of these concerns, we were able to guide the teeth into better alignment, improve overall bite function, and create a smile that’s both healthy and confident.

When the timing is right, one-phase orthodontic treatment for teens can be an efficient and effective way to achieve long-lasting results!

While home for the holidays, Dr. Herrman and her brother (also a Dr. Herrman!) enjoyed returning to their Michigan high school to share their experiences and connect with the next generation. They talked about their paths into healthcare, explored different career options, and loved encouraging students as they start thinking about their futures. It’s exciting to support and inspire future healthcare professionals — both in and out of the office!
