The Ridgefield Lions Club is a non-profit organization that supports the local community. Our Mission Statement is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation. The Lions motto is "We Serve"

Our club was formed April 19, 1929. We celebrated our 84th Anniversary this year. We collect used glasses throughout the year. There's a big YELLOW mailbox in The Market Place at Copps Hill as well as smaller white and blue Lions Club boxes in Town Hall, My Eye, Dr. Amatuzzi's office, Dr. Berman's office (Family Eye Care), Dr. Doty's office, Ridgefield Bank (Danbury Road) and Dr. Reynold's office. There are also boxes at Founder's Hall and Ridgefield Parks and Rec . Georgetown Lions have a yellow mail box in Ancona's parking lot also. The glasses are sent to a school for the deaf in New Jersey where they are cleaned, read and packaged to be distributed to people in third world countries by Lions and opticians. Our club collected 10,000 pairs of glasses during the past few years. This is an ongoing project for our club. If anyone is interested in joining our Club, please contact our membership chairperson, Mike Liberta at 203-438-0726 or mj_liberta@msn.com. We are always looking for people to join us in our endeavor to help those less fortunate. Our club consists of both male and female members from all walks of life. We love for you to join us at one of our meetings to see what we're all about.

Friends! Please mark your calendars and get your tickets soon for what is sure to be a terrific night! The first ever SAINT PADDY'S DAY BASH in Ridgefield! There will be authentic Irish music, delicious food, refreshing beverages, and fun activities for all ages. It is going to be catered by O'Deens and there are other meal options if you don't want to dive into the corned beef - although I don't know why you would not!

This past Sunday the Lions Club of Ridgefield dedicated a bench on Main Street to honor the legacy and life of Mike Liberta who was a member of our club for 50 years!! The bench is located right in front of where Mike's store, Liberta's Spirit Shoppe, stood for 28 years. Fellow Lions were joined by Mike's family and friends followed by a reception organized by Lion Sarah Patterson and held at Coldwell Banker. It was a wonderful day to honor a great man!

What a great night at the Ridgefield Holiday Stroll! The Lions Club was so happy to be welcomed into the Lounsbury House to set up an area where people could write letters to the troops. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table after visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Claus and a special shout out to our Lion "Frosty" for spreading even more holiday cheer! And as for these letters that were written, they are already in the mail and being sent far and wide to our troops to help brighten their holidays!

Meet SANTA & Mrs. Claus, see two LIVE REINDEER, and send postcards to the troops with Ridgefield CT Lions Club. Special thanks to ‘Reindeer Magic’ presenting sponsor, Karla Murtaugh, Realtor, with support from Four Seasons Racquet Club and The Ridgefield Theater Barn for bringing the North Pole to town!
