💙 June is National Dysphagia Awareness Month! 💙

Did you know that dysphagia—difficulty swallowing—affects up to 15 million Americans? 😮 It can lead to serious health risks like choking, malnutrition, and dehydration. 🥤🍽️ Swallowing is something we do more than 700 times a day—and it takes over 50 pairs of muscles to do it safely! 💪👄

This month, we’re shining a light on this often-overlooked condition. Let’s raise awareness, support those living with swallowing disorders, and advocate for better care and understanding. 💬❤️

We are so blessed to have continued our Pen Pal Program with Mrs. King’s amazing 2nd grade class from Wimberley ISD!

Since January, these sweet students have been exchanging heartfelt letters with our residents, and last Friday— they finally got to meet in person!
The smiles, laughter, and hugs were truly priceless. It’s moments like these that remind us just how powerful connection between generations can be.

Thank you to Mrs. King and her wonderful students for bringing so much joy to Deer Creek!

May is National Stroke Awareness Month
At Deer Creek, we’re dedicated to raising awareness about stroke prevention, recognition, and recovery.

Strokes can happen to anyone, at any time—knowing the signs can save lives.
Remember F.A.S.T.:
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech difficulty
Time to call 911

Our compassionate care team specializes in stroke recovery, helping residents regain independence through skilled nursing, physical therapy, and ongoing support.

This month, let’s spread awareness, support survivors, and empower each other with knowledge.
