I would like to get an online prayer circle going. Much love to everyone who reads this. I believe that when someone asks you to pray for them, you pray because prayers are free and should be given wholeheartedly. I decided to do this today because I'm standing in the need of prayer and so many others are as well. Let's pray for each other today. All prayers needed right now. If I don't see your name, I'll understand. I ask my family and friends wherever you might be, to kindly post this status for one hour to whisper a prayer for all of those who are struggling with addiction, have family problems, health struggles, job issues, or worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune. I hope to see this on the walls of all my family and friends just for moral support. I did it for family/friend and you can too ! ❤️

I know about addiction far too well for it has impacted my life and that of my family and friends. It’s a misconception when people say "you had a perfect life, how could you mess it up like this over alcohol or drugs" or "if you want help you should just ask" or "We've already been down this road before and that it didn't work last time..." addiction literally consumes your soul and it's all you can think about! No one wakes up one day and says I want to be an alcoholic,or addicted to he**in,co***ne, opiates,or m**h for the rest of my life... So today more than ever, I pray for the healing of addiction for all that are still struggling. There's a personal reason for asking everyone to put this message on their status for at least 1 hour. I know who'll do it! Think of someone you love who has had an addiction or who is trying to fight this evil whether winning or losing. I hope to see continuous efforts towards recovery & this status on all of my friend's walls.

This is Tommy Watkins. Tommy was born in Wi******er Ky to a large and loving, non addicted family. The picture on the left is Tommy in active addiction with just one of his many charges. The two pictures on the right is Tommy now that he is happily in recovery.
Tommy first started using at the age of 13. His first experiences were with ma*****na, alcohol and co***ne, and he used very socially for a long time. Then he was hurt at work in his early 20's and was introduced to opioids. This quickly turned into an addiction that would eventually cost Tommy his children. Tommy saidly then turned to he**in and m**h at a loss of meaning for life due to his loss of his children. This would quickly spiral to leading Tommy to becoming homeless living under bridges, unemployed, untrustableand in and out of jail.
The first time Tommy got sober he was Casey-lawed. This forced him to recovery for eight months when he relapsed and overdosed, causing him to have to be took to the e.r. When Tommy had woke up in the hospital, ART (Achieving Recovery Together) was there to discuss with him about treatment options, which he accepted happily once more. He stated that once he got out of treatment ART had walked with him hand in hand through more of his recovery process which gave him the heart that he has now to just give back.
I asked Tommy what life was like now that he is sober, and his reply was very heartfelt. He said, "Now that I am sober I get to be the father, brother and son that my family deserves." Then he continued with, "now I have the chance to work for the center that helped save my life. With a chance to give back to my community. I hold AA meetings in the jail while also helping the inmates find treatment options like this program has done for me."
Tommy's story was remarkable for me. And very inspirational as well. I hope it helps y'all too.
