Meet the face behind Summers’ Haven! Hi, I’m Diana Summers and I’m a licensed massage therapist! I am deaf in my right ear, and partially deaf in my left. I depend on my sense of touch to help me intuitively feel the tissues and muscles in my clients to allow for a full body experience of relaxation and rest. I love to zone in on the problem areas, especially the shoulders and upper back. More than anything, doing massage provides me ultimate sensory relief. One new business venture I have started is to visit schools in the area to provide staff and teachers table massage on site. Today and Thursday, I’m visiting Clark Memorial. If you are interested in having me at your school, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I can set something up with you! This can extend through the year on quarterly staffing days and no students on campus.

Menstrual migraines, let’s talk:

The neck muscles support our head and take a toll when we constantly use our phones and don’t stretch those muscles often. Add to it, hormone changes and if you’re a person who menstruates, you may get migraines during the month. Yuck! Those are hard for me to deal with, too. I’ve been pinching, mashing, stretching, pulling all day to no avail. I took some OTC anti-inflammatory medicine as well and drinking a caffeinated beverage. I took a nap. I still feel heavy tension in my neck but the migraine part has left. Typically I will add either tiger balm or mineral lotion to my coconut oil as a way to help alleviate pain as well.

Good morning, everyone. Due to my daughter’s daycare closing permanently, I now need to adjust my availability to late evenings with start times ranging from 4:30-6, unless we have already scheduled something on the books for other times. I’m going to need to rely mainly on my mother in law to watch my daughter so my availability will be very limited, as she works nights from Sunday to Friday morning. Saturday will also be open for appointments as well, unless I’ve already got things on the calendar with family. If you would like to book with me, please understand these changes will be in effect until I can figure out a preschool/daycare schedule for my daughter. Thank you for understanding and patience as we navigate this summer!
