Ronald E. Rogers, 83, widower of Anna Lee Hall Rogers, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was born November 20, 1941, to the late Edward L. Rogers and Mattie Parido Rogers in Wi******er. He retired from Bundy Tubing and attended Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his son Steven Rogers. His service will be at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home on Thursday, October 16, at twelve noon, with Pastor Dominic Sunukjian presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service. Pallbearers will be: Steven Rogers, Mike and Jarrod Hall, Jerry Botner, William Elkins and Larry Lambert. Burial in Wi******er Cemetery.

Chester Milton Rice, 77, husband of Karyn S. Rice, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2025. A life long Wi******er resident, he was born June 22, 1948 to the late Chester and Nancy S. Rice. He was an Air Force veteran, former President of Wi******er FOP, Sgt. at Clark Co. Detention Center, member of the American Legion and worked at Rockwell International. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Shane McCaslin, Shanna Rice, Amy Lucy (bonus daughter); a special nephew Gayle Williams. Also several neices and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Childrens's Researdh Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Rolan G. Maureen Lien, 91, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at Stanton Nursing Home under the care of Hospice East. She was born February 7, 1934, to the late Karl and Minerva (Huebner) Walter in Gunder, Iowa. She was a member of First Christian church, was an accountant, loved sewing,doing appliques on teeshirts and sweatshirts, and was an avid Bridge player. She is survived by her 3 children; Chuck (Becky) Lien, Brian (Tracy) Lien, and Julie (Mike) Menchen; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Walter and several cousins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings: Wayne Walter and Bill (Carolyn) Walter. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association. Angela Wood, 63, wife of Raymond L. Wood, for 26 years, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born July 19, 1962, to Harry Thomas Stivers and Betty Rhodus Stivers, In Richmond, KY. Angela worked in food service in the Fayette, Co. school system for 17 years, and a life long member of Davids Fork Baptist Church, and a avid animal lover. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Niki (Kris) Wood Beasley; a son, Raymond, Jr.(Sara) Wood; a sister, Diane (Mike) Stivers Reece; a brother,Jeff (Diane) Stivers and numerous beloved neices and nephews, grand kids, great grand kids, and great neices and nephews. Betty Green Bailey, 95, widow of Jessie (Jake )Betty Bailey, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025. She was born December 30, 1929, to the late Frank and Maggie Curtis Green, in Wi******er, KY. She was a hairdresser and a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a brother, William (Bill) Green, and step-daughter, Linda Caudill and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Rye, Virginia Hopkins and Ollie Frances Green, brothers, Morris, Curtis, and Prewitt Green.

Minnie "Van" Rogers, 79, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025. She was the daughter of the late O. C. Hamm and Ruby Irene McKenzie Hamm, born on March 24, 1946 in Harrison Co., KY. and was a member of Grace Bible Church. Van loved her family; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed being out in her back yard gardening and water aerobics with her friends. She is survived by her daughters; Michele (Kevin) Birch, and Jaime (Tommy) Saunders, a brother, O. C. Hamm (Jerrie); a sister Ruby (Wayne) Jacob; five grandchildren; Jake O'Bryan, Nicholas Hensley, Chaz Early, Weston and Wayland Saunders and five great-grandchildren. Janet Neace Miracle, 82, wife of William Carson Miracle, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was born on April 25, 1943, to the late Millard and Enez Potter Neace in Ashland, KY. She was a retired school teacher, serving 20 years in the Clark County School System. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her children: Mark Miracle, Janeen (Jesse) Lewis, Kristin Miracle; Siblings: Paul (Janice) Neace, Burtis (Jewell) Neace, Frances (Carlos) Flannery, Rose Marie (Rufus) Adkins, Juanita Zieber and Dorothy (Michael) McClanahan; grandchildren: Andrew and Gracie Lewis. Joe Ann Dove, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday August 19, 2025. Born in Greenville, Kentucky on July 21, 1942 to Richard and Catharine Hill, Joe Ann spent her younger years accompanying her father, a Baptist minister, as he established and pastored several churches in Kentucky. After graduating from Danville High School, Joe Ann moved to Birmingham to attend Howard College where she met her husband Donald (Ken) Dove. After college, she and Ken moved back to Kentucky, settled in Wi******er, and had two daughters, Catherine and Elizabeth. Joe Ann worked as a teacher and then eventually became the Director of the Clark County Association of Handicapped Citizens until she retired. Joe Ann was dedicated to her faith and an active member of First Baptist Church for over fifty years. Joe Ann is survived by her daughters Catherine (Katy) Greene and Elizabeth Scott. Additionally survivors include husband to Elizabeth, John Scott, and grandchildren Zachary Greene, Lauren Greene, Sylvia Scott, and John (Wesley) Scott. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kenneth Dove. Services will be held at First Baptist Church Wi******er (32 E. Lexington Ave.) at 1pm on August 23, 2025. John Ronald Gyula, 76, passed away August 1, 2025. He was born in Lodi, NJ, on November 6, 1948, along with his twin sister, Eleanor. He was the son of John and Eleanor Gyula. He graduated Lodi High School in 1966 and attended Newark College of Engineering, graduating in 1970. John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maryett Maynard Gyula and sons Jeff and Nik Gyula, his sister Eleanor and brother Donald and many nieces and nephews. John worked at IBM for 36 years and for the State of KY for 10 years. While living in New York, he was a member of Trail Sweeper Ski Club, serving as president once. He also lead hiking for many years. In 1981, he hiked the Applachian Trail, taking 6 months off work to complete it. He was also a member of the Catskill 3500 Club, not only hiking all 34 mountains but all of them in the winter. John and Mariett built a Green Mt. Passive solar home in Glenford, NY on top of Ohayo Mt. He spent his retirement helping with trail maintenance in Wi******er and Lexington. He hiked Natural Bridge many times with his family. His service will be Thursday, August 7, at 6:00 pm at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00 pm until the hour of service.

Theodore (Theo) M. Godlaski, M.Div, CADC, (78) passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Born in Garfield Heights, Ohio, Theo graduated from John Carroll University and St. Mary’s Seminary. He was active in the civil rights movement in 1960s Cleveland and spent his life working in mental health, addiction recovery, and research.

His work spanned decades in Kentucky and Alaska, where he focused on substance misuse, trauma, and domestic violence, particularly among rural Appalachian and Indigenous (Lingít) communities. A clinician, professor Psychiatry and Social Work, and researcher, Theo was known for his compassion and commitment to culturally and spiritually responsive care.

He was also a devoted volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, offering food and financial assistance to anyone in need.

Theo is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice; sons Adam (CG) and Aaron; daughter Leah (Matt) Graham; and three grandchildren, McKade, Philomena and Felix, who will grow up hearing many tender stories about their grandfather.

Visitation: Thursday, July 31, 5–7 p.m. at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, Wi******er, KY.
Funeral Mass: Friday, August 1, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wi******er, KY.

Dorothy Osborne, 82, widow of David "Buddy" Osborne, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025. She was born January 31, 1943, to the late William H. Benningfield and Bernice Johnson Stokley in Bath Co., KY. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church and a retired adult day care worker. She is survived by her grandchildren: Jeremy and Dillon Griffith , Tony Spivey; great-grandchildren: Aniston (Nicholas) Griffett, Ruby and Mady Spivey; great-great grandchildren Theodore and Nicholas Griffett; siblings: Anna Parrish, Jesse (Debbie) Stokley, Frank (Treva) Stokley and Merinda (William) Hackworth. Also, countless nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death a daughter, Debbie Ann Griffith, siblings; Jeanette Spicer, Hobert Benningfield and Fred Stokley, Sr. Her service will be on Monday, July 28, at 1:00 pm, at Rolan G. Janet Sue Greiser, 94 , widow of Kenneth Evers Greiser, Jr., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was born July 8, 1931, to the late John "Mack" Riley and Hazel Hall Riley in Ramage, W. VA.. She was a graduate of Marshall College, a journalist with the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, taught elementary school for 30 years and taught piano in Wi******er for fifteen plus years. She is survived by her children; Dr. William (Ehdena) Greiser, Linda Rector and Al (Debbie) Greiser; sister Jean Schurman, 13 grandchildren: Avalyn, Isabella, Sophia, Sarah, Jennifer, Rachel, Elias, Sam, Gabriel, Grace, Wendy, Manny and Aaron; and 12 great-grandchildren; nieces Sally (Terry) Leugers and Susie (Bill) McAllister. Her service will be on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1:00 pm, at the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Dr., Wi******er. Visitation will be on Friday, July 25, from 5-8 pm also at the church. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Wi******er Cemetery.
