Supporting Su***de Prevention Awareness Month
Every day, Concern Hotline receives calls from people who feel overwhelmed and need someone to talk to. The caring volunteers who answer these calls offer hope and support. I am writing to support Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. Our community faces real mental health and su***de challenges, and organizations like Concern Hotline are there to help those in need.
Su***de Prevention Awareness Month is a time to come together, raise awareness, and help reduce the stigma around mental health. Many people who die by su***de have mental health conditions, but help is always available. By supporting Concern Hotline and similar organizations, you can make sure that anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts can find someone to talk to at any time. Sharing these resources helps our community respond quickly in a crisis.
Take action by engaging at different levels:
• Learn the warning signs of su***de and talk openly about mental health. Some common signs include withdrawal from activities, expressing hopelessness/helplessness, changes in sleep patterns, and noticeable mood swings. Understanding these can help you recognize when someone might need support.
• Volunteer your time or donate to support community organizations like Concern Hotline, which provide critical services to those in need.
• Share valuable information with your network to spread awareness and connect individuals to resources.
• Save the Concern Hotline number in your phone and encourage others to do the same.
When we work together, we can save lives and create a safer and more caring community. Su***de challenges can affect anyone, no matter their age, background, or culture. By recognizing this, we can make sure support is available to everyone and remind each person that they matter.
Together, let's take action to promote hope, healing, and prevention by reaching out, supporting others, and making a difference today.
Sincerely,
Rusty Holland
