Department of Education Proposed Rule:
On January 29, 2026, the U.S. Department of Education released a proposed rule that could reclassify professional degree programs—like physical therapy—as “graduate” programs.

If enacted, this change would cut federal student loan limits nearly in half: annual borrowing could drop from $50,000 to $20,500, and lifetime limits from $200,000 to $100,000, making it much harder for future PT students to finance their education.

APTA is pursuing dual advocacy strategies: submitting formal comments to the Department of Education and supporting H.R. 6718 and H.R. 6574 to ensure PT programs remain classified as professional degrees.

It's time to use your voice. Members of Congress need to hear from you today!

Presidents' Day once again means SUPT BOT Lab Day!!!!

Have a school-age child who needs something fun to do on this day off from school? Let them get out some energy and "hang out" with PT students! I am looking for children 4-9 years old to participate in our annual "BOT lab" where students will evaluate your child's gross and fine motor coordination. It takes 1-1.5 hours and is lots of fun.

It will be held on Feb 16 at 10:30 AM. We will be holding the labs in both Wi******er and Leesburg that morning. The students will also send you the full results.
