Well, I closed my yoga studio today. Perhaps temporarily, perhaps not. So many people have wanted yoga over the years, but it just hasn't taken off in this area. Starting at Anytime Fitness in 2013, to moving to several partner locations and finally in my own spot post-COVID in 2022, I have absolutely loved teaching yoga!!! If each person who's ever said they are coming to a class had come and fallen in love with it like my regulars, THAT would have made this post improbable, but here it is...
Has my yoga business been and is it still worthwhile? ABSOLUTELY!!! I accomplished my goal of having a place where women could gather, relax and fellowship. Friendships were formed and family trees were traced and some found out they are even related! We learned about nutrition and supplements, we made floral arrangements and charcuterie boards. We laughed, had Bible study, Mommy & Me yoga and Girls' Night! Some men were bold and supportive enough to come to Couples Yoga!!!
Every small business owner has wondered if they have what it takes; I KNOW I DO. Am I sad? Not exactly, because there's always something new on the horizon, right? I am proud of myself for taking bold leaps and helping women overcome their anxious minds, if only for an hour at a time, a few days a week. Women gained strength, flexibility and confidence and that's a GREAT thing!!! We have all learned a great deal about our bodies and embraced getting older and the physical challenges that can come with that. Did we do head stands? No way! We did do poses that challenged us and kept us moving. We laughed at ourselves, we cheered each other on, we went through health scares together, physical therapy, surgeries, you name it, and physically, we've probably experienced it as a group. We've been sympathetic during the sicknesses and deaths of loved ones. WE ARE A FAMILY!
I'm taking December to regroup. I'm taking classes to officially become a Christian life coach. I'm focusing on my health and well-being. I'm enjoying my new husband and stepdaughter this Christmas season. I'm loving on my father, sister, nephews and brother-in-law and new in-laws. I'm focusing on life, and I encourage you to do likewise.
Stay tuned, family, for what's next in 2025... But in the meantime, enjoy the love of Jesus and your loved ones and the magical wonder of the season! βοΈπππΌπ½ππ
