So lucky that Cedar Tree Communication Therapy was able to represent the country of Lebanon at The Festival of Holidays Around the World hosted by UCF CARD/PALS this afternoon! We were happy to share an exercise to assist with emotional regulation and grounding. Thank you to everyone who came out and stopped by our booth! This is Dr. Amy. I have received some amazing compliments from my clients this week. One called me “patient”, because I always give him enough time in silence to process responses. (If you know me personally, you know that’s not exactly one of my natural gifts.) One told me that he appreciates that I just “give it to him straight,” rather than talking around what I am trying to say like “most neurotypical people.” The third may be my favorite. After I was talking about some amazing attributes of being on the spectrum, one of my kids said, “Wait! Are you one of us?” I can only dream, buddy. 🫶
