REWARDING MOMENTS....As original Creator of the featured on Arianna Huffington Thrive Global platform the vision quickly expanded from story features to a movement https://sheroprojectmvmt.org/ and the most rewarding parts were the friendships/connections and visual transformations that happened along the way. When I started with the initial vision in 2018, I spent lots of time gathering and vetting stories of women that have experienced abuse/trauma; that are now thriving and positively impacting the world. Each SHERO was carefully hand selected and I vowed that in exchange for these women gaining the courage to share their stories, that I would protect and support their courageous steps. I wanted to assist in the healing process and inspire readers who have experienced similar journeys to gain the courage to heal and step out. It's rewarding moments like this testimony from SHERO Angela Magana that clearly defines the positive impact that the project had.
"Before getting into the with Dawn, I was wanting to get my story out more than it was through my professional fighting career. Dawn is the vehicle for getting many stories of empowerment out to those who need it most. When going through a tragedy people need to hear about others who have survived similar situations; to gain strength and confidence and to know they will make it through. And for that I can’t thank Dawn enough.
Working on the project with Dawn, what surprised me the most was how Dawn would also counsel, listen, and support each one of us. And if one of the Sheros was feeling down or uneasy about finally sharing their story, Dawn was there to gather everyone to support whoever needed it. Also Dawn is impeccable to her word, every date and time we were told things were going to happen, happened. I’ve been in many film projects and this was the smoothest, most organized project I had the honor to be apart of. Now that the Shero project has aired, I'm very excited and pleased with the outcome. I’ve done documentaries, reality TV but no one told my story the way it was told on the Shero Project and that was due to how much time Dawn spent with each one of our stories. Dawn cares and if you work her you are bound to make a new friend and someone who you can trust. I feel the Shero project motivates me to help more women in similar situations and to be more like Dawn as she becomes a type of mentor for the women involved. I can’t speak high enough of Dawn. She did everything above and beyond what could be expected of her. I wish Dawn lived closer to me as I would love to bring her on our non profit board. Anyone working with Dawn is blessed to have such a punctual, hardworking, successful, confident, smart, and loyal woman to work with. I look forward to what Dawn’s next projects are and hope to work with her again."----Angela Magana
