Mass General Brigham did the largest long covid study to date in the US and published their results last month.
They found 8 different trajectory patterns of long covid.
-persistent symptoms, high severity
-intermittent symptoms, high severity
-improving symptoms, moderate severity
-improving symptoms, low severity
-worsening symptoms, moderate severity
-delayed worsening of symptoms and delayed increased severity
-consistent symptoms, low severity
-consistent low severity, minimal to no symptoms
Getting another infection while recovering from long covid made for worse outcomes. Made me thing of second impact syndrome in the concussion recovery world
Symptoms were tracked by the Long Covid research index and included the following 12 areas:
-postexertional malaise
-fatigue
-brain fog
-dizziness
-gastrointestinal symptoms
-palpitations
-changes in sexual desire or capacity
-loss of or change in smell or taste, thirst
-chronic cough
-chest pain
-abnormal movements
-hair loss
Body and Mind has had a large increase in females that have specifically been experiencing dizziness without a known cause or solution. Focusing on autonomic regulation, ATP support for mitochondrial function, and cotreating with neuro optometrists seems to be highly successful. Hoping for some female specific studies on long covid because of how it impacts the female hormones
