This gym makes it a priority to TEACH. It's not just "do this" without any explanation why.

We give you the tools to be the healthiest, happiest, and most capable version of yourself that you can be.

This starts with teaching you HOW your bod works. The body is a beautifully designed machine, but it only works the way it's supposed to when it's treated (fed and cared for) properly

Health starts with NUTRITION!

Your body is an incredible, fat-burning machine (lipolysis) BUT! you must allow it to do what it's designed to do.

What this means is that your body, if fueled correctly, it should be able to appropriately switch between carbohydrates and fats for activity.

Here you can watch one of our nutritional talks that we give often after our classes.

If your gym isn't talking about nutrition, you should find one that does. We'd love to be that gym, but you need to take the first step!

Meet Darlene!

Darlene started with us a few weeks back and is here showing a shining example of how Misfit Gym Windham is for anyone.

She came to us with the goals of being healthier, stronger and most importantly: be able to stand up paddle board!

Look no further than Misfit Gym Windham, we’ve got you! We whole-heartedly believe there’s no better option than what we teach daily to get you closer to your goals. Whether that’s hiking the Appalachian trail, chasing your kids, or simply living an independent lifestyle, free of assistance from others.

What do we do here? We make people fitter!

What is fitness?

Put simply, it’s a measurement of your health.

Every thing we measure inside the gym and everything your doctor would measure with blood work would fall on a spectrum from sickness to wellness to fitness.

Things like:
- Triglycerides, Blood Pressure, 1 rep max Deadlift, Body Fat, 1 mile run time, etc

The program we offer (CrossFit) moves each of these metrics in the positive direction towards fitness. How do we do that? Through sound nutrition and constantly varied functional exercise executed at relatively high intensity.

When applied correctly we see results like these: meet Derek R!

Triglycerides: 78>63
HDL 49>59
Body weight 184>155lbs*
*184 at his heaviest, not 2023

What these results indicate is Derek has improved his metabolic health (helping him to avoid chronic disease) and has made himself a more capable human being.

While this outfit may not be serious, these RESULTS are!

🗣️MEMBER SHOUTOUT🗣️

We would like to throw an atta boy in Jason’s direction for the work he’s been putting in the gym. In the fall Jason saw his doctor who told him he’d soon be on diabetic medication unless he took action…

Jason chose ACTION! Through changing his diet and exercise he’s down 64lbs (YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT SIXTY-FOUR-FREAKING-POUNDS) and he has returned his HbA1c back to normal levels (AKA no longer diabetic).

This is the kind of stuff we do at Misfit Gym Windham. We give you the tools to fix chronic disease.

Learning to understand your health markers and what causes them to change is a critical part of understanding it truly means to the healthy.

Healthy IS NOT about health markers, its absence of disease. There are only two ways to properly improve your health markers. Diet and Exercise are the two variables that are within your control that have a profound impact on your health (lack of disease).

Monday in class we addressed a common health marker, Triglycerides. What they are, what they tell you, and how to improve your triglycerides if they are elevated.
