A message from our Wound Center!
🩹Understanding Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)🩹Did you know nearly 8 million adults over 40 in the U.S. have Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)? This condition restricts blood flow due to blockages in arteries, significantly affecting wound healing, especially on the legs.

Key risk factors include: Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Smoking

Watch for symptoms: Pain or cramps in the legs, pale or bluish skin, numbness or tingling in feet, sores or wounds that don’t heal

Don’t ignore leg pain! Early diagnosis through tests like the ankle-brachial index (ABI) is vital. Seek medical help to stay healthy! 💪❤️ For more information on identifying PAD and treating chronic or non-healing wounds, contact the Wound & Hyperbaric Healing Center at 507-831-0686

🌟 A big thank you to Dr. Kamlitz (General Surgeon) and Katie Bennett (Emergency Coordinator) for their incredible dedication in hosting the “Stop the Bleed” sessions at the Cottonwood County Fair last Friday! With two informative sessions at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., fairgoers of all ages embraced the chance to learn essential lifesaving skills.

The enthusiastic participation proves that anyone, regardless of size or background, has the power to save a life!
