The phrase “Saturday in May” has such a great ring to it, don’t you think? Well, leave it to GiGi’s Playhouse to make the day even better for our young families.

To start the day, we roll out the welcome mat with New Family Coordination at 9:30. Then Olivia leads another edition of LNMOP for participants newborn to three-years-old at 10 a.m. Watching “the littles” respond to bubbles and music and games as they learn new ways to communicate through sign language is just beautiful!

Then at 11 we bring back an old favorite with Leaps & Bounds for three to five-year-olds.
Olivia, you see, asked us if she could lead this program so she can reconnect with the kiddos that graduated from LMNOP. We know that all these graduates miss her, too, so we hope you’ll welcome her back as she leads fun and engaging activities that provide opportunities for following routines, small group participation, movement and interaction with their environment.

We had a fiesta at GiGi's Playhouse with a TexMex menu (complete with non-alcoholic mojitos), followed by a Macarena sing-along during Music Makers.

These are essential skills for independence, but many individuals with Down syndrome face challenges with math. That’s where you come in!​

Our 1:1 Math Tutoring program is tailored to help individuals with Down syndrome overcome these challenges and understand math.​

But we need your help! To keep changing lives, we need math tutors.​

As a volunteer tutor, you can help someone reach their full potential! And we make tutoring simple. Commit to as little as one hour a week, and we’ll work around your schedule.​

Did you know that we have no good tool to measure challenging behaviors among children with Down syndrome?

Researchers at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are conducting a study and have asked us to reach out to families that can help them create a tool to better measure problematic behaviors in children with Down syndrome. Input from caregivers of children and teens 2 to 17 years old with Down syndrome could really help them.

As April ends, May begins! Stacked programing on Tuesday for our adult participants. Thursday evening will bring teens and adults back to the kitchen for a Spaghetti dinner and GiGiMove: Drumline with Anna! And our Fantastic Friends will be ready for Karaoke on Friday night from 6:00-8:00pm. And on Saturday morning, our teens will gather for Teen Tastic with Sarah for a Cinco de Mayo Celebration!
