Yeah - I am going here - this is my actual electric bill - the public benefits charge we are talking about.
This is ridiculous, unsustainable, unimaginable.
I have been stewing about this for a few weeks now, I don't mind helping out some - but this, this is just plain robbery.
Does Ned Lamont, PURA, or any other of these morons understand the ramifications of these charges? Can you imagine if you were on social security? or if you are? I have a budget to keep and I just got an extra $162 charge that I was not expecting (slap in the face is a great analogy) - how long is this going to go on? Truthfully - that's ALMOST a weeks' worth of groceries. Or a good amount to put towards my next 100 gallons of oil (heating season is right around the corner). Most of the population of Connecticut cannot handle this charge, nor should they have to. Even if they can - what kind of leadership dictates how people should spend their money?? The State already has income tax, sales tax, oh and the new FMLA weekly donations from our paychecks.
What about the people who are going to go hungry so they can have lights on?
What about the people who will keep their lights off and TV's off so they can afford to eat. What about the seniors who are fixed incomes - do you know how many seniors I see in stores putting things back because they check the prices of things? So absolutely sad.
What about all those families and single parents trying to make ends meet? Trying to fill their oil tanks? Trying to buy gas to get back and forth to work every day? Or the Mom's and Dad's trying to save a little for their kid's Christmas presents? Or the young person just starting out that has a job and found a room to rent to show some independence and now has to move back home?
WTAF is this State thinking - I think this administration should really take a good look at what they are doing to this ONCE great state - pretty soon it's going to look like Chernobyl.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!
