We are incredibly proud to celebrate Travis Cooley, a valued member of the Powell Mental Health team, on receiving the Alumni Recognition Award from the UConn School of Social Work.

Travis exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, advocacy, and integrity. As he shared during his remarks, “we came together with a shared purpose to challenge something that wasn’t working… willing to fight for change.” Through his leadership and collaboration, meaningful strides were made to address barriers within the MSW program—ensuring that future students, particularly those from historically marginalized communities, have greater access and opportunity.

His work reflects the very heart of social work—understanding lived experiences, advancing equity, and creating pathways where none existed before. Yesterday’s Hypertension Workshop & Panel Discussion was an incredible success—thank you to everyone who showed up, engaged, and prioritized their health.

One thing was clear: our communities are ready for real conversations about health.
