3 years Postpartum and I still p*e my pants…

This just goes to show that rehab takes time, you’ve got to put the work in daily. And, you’ve got to listen to your body and its threshold!

Bet your ass my training and rehab has paid off! But my pelvic floor threshold was at around 250 double unders today when I began to p*e.. I continued on to 450 because I just really needed to move!

The accomplishment was 200 + double unders without p*e which is HUGE! The take home, 450 is WAY too much for me at 3 years PP and I will continue to grow strength in this movement.

Peeing your pants in any type of movement, is not normal but very common, and this is just a reminder that it can take time and work to get there 💪

Let go, and let be.

If you need permission today, this week or this year to BE. Here it is.

This last week and half our house all got something. Sleepless nights, people sleeping in all random places, all the vitamins, supplements, oils and ultimately cough meds spread across every room. I haven’t made it to the gym in 8 days, and that’s my fuel.

My basement does the trick but it’s not the same.

This week and half has been out of my control, but it’s in these moments I find some of the most peace. It forces me to stop and be thankful, so I have to wonder sometimes is sickness Gods way of planting a seed to REST and BE?

I’m not sure but I know I was digging for permission from myself to just be, and when I got it. I felt peace.

I get myself caught up in what I think I need when I’m actually getting what I need already.

Just Be in the Chaos. It’s okay. You never know the outcome.

July is dedicated to raising awareness around the grief parents face after the loss of a child. No one can imagine outliving their child or having to burry an infant, but it happens daily. It can be hard to know what to say or how to support a friend or family member who may be experiencing a pregnancy or child loss.

Here are a few tips:

1.LISTEN - It’s not always about consoling but about listening.
2. It’s okay to ask questions - most bereaved parents want to talk about their child.
3.Walk along side of them - your support doesn’t have to be perfect, it just needs to be. There isn’t a dotted line you follow, it can be messy and uncertain at times but being there for them and providing a safe space to talk and grieve.

What is Diastasis Recti?

Great question! This is a separation in your Re**us Abdominus or the pretty ab muscles! The ones that make us appear thin and in shape.

Typically the separation is caused from pregnancy but it can be caused from other things. The linea alba which is the tissue between the Re**us gets stretched and weakened which is the actual cause for DR.

The bulging isn’t necessarily harmful but can cause weakness and dysfunction within your core and or pelvic floor! It can also be the reason for the term “mom pooch”.

Lots of ways this can be healed and eventually close! Get with a local Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, or BIRTHFIT coach for more information and support during your journey to heal, and stabilize your core!

It’s almost been a year since BFF closed its doors, and it’s taken me that long to find another community to feel apart of!

To be honest, I needed this year to grieve all the things BFF was to me.

I finally feel ready to love another fitness family and coach my heart out! Thank you for giving me this opportunity, and I am excited to learn more about you all and of course kick your ass 👊🏻

I am a California native, been in Colorado for about 10 years. I have 3 kiddos, and married to my husband Nick.

I was always into fitness and movement! I played soccer and rode horses all the way to the collegiate level, and after graduating college I was into competitive body building, and bikini competitions. In 2008 I stepped foot into my first CrossFit gym and was instantly hooked. In 2009 the owner, asked me to coach and get certified. Since then I’ve been coaching/training on some capacity.

I went on to compete at sectionals and regionals in 2009 and 10

My fitness level changed as I moved through different seasons of my life such as pregnancy and postpartum. I knew there was more to being an athlete while being pregnant and that led me to BIRTHFIT. I now specialize in the pregnant athlete, and helping train for the act of giving birth and rehabbing in postpartum! But trust me I can still kick anyone’s ass!

This week is 3Hopeful Hearts’ Week of Giving!
During the week of May 15th- 22nd, we encourage our community to come together to spread awareness about grief, learn more about 3Hopeful Hearts’ mission, and give back to grieving parents and families across the Northern Colorado area.
This week is meant to serve as a reminder of the grief that hides behind the smile of so many people who you might come into contact with every day, and to show the impact of what the community can do when they come together to make a difference. No dollar amount is too small, especially when combined with the generosity of everyone who is willing and able to contribute!

SAVOR the MOMENT

Cancel your clients to be there

It’s worth it 100%

I struggle a lot with balance. I want to be home with my kids to not miss anything, but I also know for my mental health I need the ability to be out. To allow my entrepreneur brain to be tickled, to make change in the community, to make change for the women I touch.

As working moms or part time stay at home moms. Give yourself permission to interrupt work and be a mom, to cancel a client, miss a meeting.

I stood with this guy for 15 minutes today, in something he had invited me to the whole school year. I always had something scheduled. I gave myself permission to cancel what I had for him and his glow from ear to ear was more than worth it 💙

Here your permission to do the same…

Welcome to The Beautifully New

Hello! My name is Dawn Hager. I am a Certified CrossFit Trainer, Level 2, a USAW Sports Performance Coach, a BirthFit Coach, and a SBD Birth and Bereavement Doula. A Cali girl born and raised, I moved to Colorado after meeting my now-husband on a trip to Denver. I am now the mother of two beautiful kiddos; Brayden and Naomi, 3 angel babies, 1 horse, and 1 old dog (my firstborn!). My first pregnancy I was able to maintain my CrossFit workouts until Brady was born. During my pregnancy, I went to a conference with many CrossFit gym owners, and the topic of pregnancy came up. How do we treat our pregnant athletes? Many of the attendees referred to BirthFit. I did my research and fell in love with everything BirthFit offered and took a coaches seminar in August of 2017. Since that time, I have been helping women with their pre and postnatal fitness journey. From preparing for labor and delivery to rehabilitating their pelvic floor after birth and healing diastasis recti. I’ve helped women from 6 weeks pregnant to 57 years postpartum. In addition to my fitness journey, I’ve experienced 3 miscarriages in the years of trying to have babies, and I found healing and support within BirthFit and local doulas. My life has taken me in many directions, all coming full circle to THIS! Serving and supporting women through their motherhood transition. My experiences have led me here, and with God's word placed in my ear, I bring to you The Beautifully New.
