Last week, we proudly recognized Care Experience Week, a dedicated time to reflect on what it means to deliver the best possible experience for our patients, their families, and our incredible staff.

From educational sessions alongside car experience leaders across Dartmouth Health to spending time welcoming patients and their loved ones through our doors, it was a week full of connection, learning, and heart.

Congratulations to our April Employee of the Month, LaRae Strom!

As a personal care attendant at Historic Homes of Runnemede, LaRae provides resident-centered care, including assisting with daily living activities, monitoring and documenting resident health statuses, supporting care plans, and contributing to housekeeping, meal service, and recreational activities. Her nominator said, “LaRae Strom consistently demonstrates the dedication, compassion, and teamwork that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. She is someone who can always be counted on to step up when needed—covering shifts, supporting colleagues, and ensuring our residents receive the highest level of care. LaRae shows exceptional strength and compassion when supporting residents receiving hospice care, providing comfort and dignity during end-of-life. Her calm presence and experience help both residents and families feel supported during difficult times. Whether responding to a last-minute need or supporting the team through a challenging day, LaRae leads by example and embodies the spirit of service that defines the HHR community.”

For over 50 years, the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Auxiliary has been a beloved part of our hospital community.

Their fundraising and volunteer efforts have helped support:

📚 Pediatric literacy programs
🏡 A family-friendly hospice suite
🤱 Nursing & lactation spaces
🚁 Safer patient transfer systems
🩺 Advanced 4K imaging technology

That’s the impact of dedicated volunteers.

And, of course, Windsor wouldn't be the same without their famous apple crisp. Thank you, volunteers!

Over the last few months, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center has had the privilege of displaying paintings by William B. Hoyt, a former patient and award-winning artist based in Hartland, Vermont.

“Engagement is the inspiration,” said Hoyt. He stated that he hopes that as people walk down our halls, “they see windows revealing people, landscapes, still lives, all made of paint in two dimensions, and are attracted and distracted momentarily into a different space.”
By displaying his artwork at MAHHC—a place he’s familiar with as a patient—he strives to “return the favor of care and attention.”

We’re honored to showcase his work and grateful for the warmth and creativity he’s brought to both our patients and caregivers.

And throughout the year, we’re proud to host local artists in our halls, celebrating community talent while offering moments of color, reflection, and comfort to everyone who passes through.🖌️🎨📷
