This stunning image of a dogs eye is due to a congenital ocular anomaly called Persistent Pupillary Membranes (PPM). These membranes are remnants of blood vessels, which help to supply nutrients to the developing eye before birth. Normally, these strands dissolve by 4 weeks of age... sometimes, they never go away (as it's the case with this dog). Generally, these persistent strands don't cause issues and can be left untreated.
Isn't the body amazing?!?!
