When essential recovery tools are denied, healing is delayed.
After being severely burned in the line of duty, Fort Worth firefighter Caleb Halvorson was prescribed critical post-surgical care — including a CPM (continuous passive motion) device to help restore knee mobility and prevent long-term stiffness. That care was initially denied by workers’ compensation.

Caleb’s case was eventually reversed after public attention, but it raises a bigger question:
Why should patients — especially first responders — have to fight for medically prescribed care?
