National Recovery Month (Recovery Month), which started in 1989, is observed every September to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery possible.

Hope, the belief that these challenges and conditions can be overcome, is the foundation of recovery. A person’s recovery is built on his or her strengths, talents, coping abilities, resources, and inherent values. It is holistic, addresses the whole person and their community, and is supported by peers, friends, and family members.

The process of recovery is highly personal and occurs via many pathways. It may include clinical treatment, medications, faith-based approaches, peer support, family support, self-care, and other approaches. Recovery is characterized by continual growth and improvement in one’s health and wellness and managing setbacks. Because setbacks are a natural part of life, resilience becomes a key component of recovery. (SAMHSA.gov)

Patient Three is a couple who came to us in October 2023. At the time, both individuals were actively using crystal m**h and were opioid-dependent. They were struggling with
unemployment, homelessness, and the recent loss of custody of their three children.
To support their recovery, we started them on medically assisted treatment with Suboxone and initiated weekly counseling sessions. Despite experiencing several relapses during the initial months, they have shown remarkable resilience and determination. Over the past six months,
both have achieved stability and remained substance-free. Their commitment to recovery has led to significant improvements in their lives. They both now hold full-time jobs and have secured an apartment and two vehicles. Most importantly, they
have regained custody of two of their children, which has brought a renewed sense of purpose and joy to their lives.
The journey of Patient Three highlights the power of comprehensive treatment and the
importance of support in overcoming addiction and rebuilding one's life. Their progress serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that with the right resources and dedication, recovery and stability are possible.

This , I’m hoping that you will consider supporting individuals in recovery by donating to our mission. You can donate here:
