My name is Elizabeth Kueny, I live in Northern Colorado with my husband, 3 children, and my dog. It has been my lifelong passion to work with people in a meaningful way. I graduated from Bellevue University in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. In 1998 I earned a Master’s degree in Human Services. My work in Human Services was brief, as I chose to be a stay-at-home mom in 2000. However, I still found ways to serve in my community. My yoga journey began in 2007 when I was stricken with a sudden illness that caused pain in all of my joints and muscles. After seeing several specialists, and not getting any answers, I decided to research what could be done for my pain. That search is what led me to my first yoga class. I had never taken a group fitness class or had ever thought I was "bendy" but I was desperate to get rid of my pain. I was fortunate enough to find myself in a class where the yoga instructor was encouraging and non-judgmental. If it hadn't been for her, I probably wouldn't have continued with yoga. After several months of practicing yoga two times a week, and stretching in between, I was finally living pain free! By then I knew I wanted to be a yoga instructor so that I could help people receive the benefits of yoga too. I am grateful that I found this unexpected path! In 2012, I earned my Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification. After teaching for several years, I went on to earn my Yoga Alliance 300-hour, Trauma Aware, Yoga Nidra, and Restorative Yoga certificates. More information on Trauma Aware and Yoga Nidra can be found on the 'class description' page. It is my goal to foster a non-competitive and safe environment for everyone. I want people to feel comfortable with their skill level and within their own body. I encourage people to listen to their body and go where it is willing to bend, stretch, and move. I love teaching all levels and helping people grow on their yoga journey. I strongly believe that yoga should be accessible to everyone. I am not the most flexible yoga teacher you will ever meet, but I'm okay with that, because I know my body is doing everything it is meant to do. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to get to know me a little bit better! Elizabeth
