Throughout its rich history, Northwest Regional Health, formerly Northwest Medical Center, has remained intertwined with the growing community it serves. The Winfield Hospital had its official opening in 1949 and since that time has been serving the primary healthcare needs of Marion, Fayette, Lamar, Walker and Winston counties. In this modern era, Northwest Medical Center has added many specialized services reaching beyond our primary service area into a regional service facility.

Please join us in welcoming Saladino, Louise, Chief Nursing Officer, to NMHS-South Marion.

Louise is a wife, mother to one daughter, and proud grandmother of three—and a nurse leader with more than 32 years of experience spanning critical care bedside practice, education, executive leadership, and coaching. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University School of Nursing.

Throughout her career, Louise has been deeply committed to elevating the voice of frontline staff and strengthening structures that support safe, high‑quality patient care. Her leadership has driven innovation through shared governance, unit‑based safety teams, family‑initiated rapid response programs, and early nurse intervention teams—empowering nurses and improving outcomes across care settings.

A dedicated volunteer leader, Louise has contributed 26 years of service to the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, including roles on the Board of Directors, Certification Board, and as Treasurer of the 130,000‑member national organization. She has also completed executive coaching curriculum and plans to pursue certification through the International Coaching Federation later this year.

This July, Louise will take the global stage as a keynote speaker at the Nursing World Congress in Paris, where she will introduce her coaching model, M.O.V.E.—a four‑step approach to navigating complex practice and performance challenges through Mindfulness, Optimism, Vision, and Ex*****on.

We are excited to welcome Louise to NMHS-South Marion and look forward to the leadership, innovation, and passion she brings to our nursing teams and the patients we serve.
