Been a while since I have posted. I’m doing really well except for a few bumps in the road here and there. I was a diabetic before I had transplant and only took a pill. But since transplant due to high doses of anti rejection medication it’s has really thrown my diabetes for loop! I can range from 40-400 everyday. It’s never consistent even if I haven’t eaten for anything . I am currently on 2 different kind of insulin and also taking ozempic. We had to go thru all the similar medications to ozempic in order to get insurance to pay for it. All 3 of those made me deathly sick! But finally got the ozempic going. They are shooting to put me on a pump in November . Also I’ve just found out that I have BK virus. Everyone has it and it lays dormant in your system but in transplant patients it gets awaken because of being immunosuppressed. Bk virus can cause your kidney to reject.. but my numbers are still fairly low so we are keepin a close eye on it. This probably explains why I haven’t been feeling exactly great all the time. I sleep a lot still and still stay nauseous due to all the medications . Just thought I would give a brief update. Please continue to keep me I. Your prayers as we want this virus to disappear and get my sugar regulated bc it can also cause damage to my new kidney.

Haven’t updated in quite a while!! Last post I posted there was no rejection they found !! Thank the good Lord above!! My kidney is working great other than my numbers are stil a little off but we are working on that! My biggest problem now is my sugar. I was a diabetic before transplant and it was very well controlled just by a pill. After transplant due to hi doses of steroids and the anti rejection meds my sugar is completely off the wall crazy! I’m ranging 40-400 daily. Even if I haven’t eaten. I drink water and diet drinks. They had put me on monjuerno but it makes me deathly sick so they changed to trulicity and it did the same thing. So currently I am on humealog and lantus. They told me I would probably be on a pump in the next month. It’s very very stressful and overwhelming. Because ifykyk!! Being too high can make you feel horrible as well as too low! I feel like I’m fighting a loosing battle somedays! And not to mention my sugar not being regulated plays a huge role on my new kidney!! I pray we get it straightened out soon!! Thank you for all the prayers and positivity I really appreciate it!!

I haven’t posted in a while because everything was going good until beginning of the week. My numbers have reversed and started going up. Not sure why but they have done a ton of bloodwork and sent it to a specialty lab to see if my body maybe rejecting my new kidney . So I’m asking all my prayer warriors to please keep me in your prayers, your church prayer list or group. Also along with this problem I have also caught some type of strand of coronavirus. Not Covid 19- but some type of strand bc of My immune system being suppressed!
I am very grateful for all the prayers thus far! But I am in need of them again!!

Well it’s official I’ve busted out and am otw home!!! As of today my levels are amazing! My creatinine is 1.5 ( pre transplant it was 3.7) my kidney function is 47 (pre transplants was 11)! God has moved in my life and kept angels around me for the past month! I’m still adjusting to medication and it’s to be expected with 23 pills in the am and 25 at night. My body will adjust it’s gonna be a long road ! And I can’t drive for quite some time still! I’ve learned to be dependent on my family which is hard if u know me bc I’m the one who keeps everyone else together!! I do not mind visitors but I do ask that if u are sick or even have a runny nose to please wait til you are better as my immune system is suppressed and I can catch things easily!! Please message or call before comin for my health! I’m so thankful for everyone that has prayed called text or done anything along the way!! I’ve truly seen how loved I am!! And I cannot wait to see my grandchildren!!’

Update: Day 18 post transplant:::
Went to the doctor today and nothing but good news!! The biopsy I had Friday was totally normal and no signs of rejection!! Praise the good Lord above 🙏🙏 Also my creatinine levels have dropped to 1.8!! So we are heading in the right direction!! Everything is looking really good! As of now I am here for at least another week and a half! I will have my staples removed Tuesday and they will release me!! God is an amazing provider and healer! There’s no way he didn’t play apart in all of this!! I am so thankful and blessed more than I deserve! Thank you all for continuing to pray for me and flooding the gates of heaven with my name!! It has been felt!! Also this month is national kidney month! If you aren’t a donor please consider it!!

If y’all don’t mind squeezing a lil I prayer in today I’m having a kidney biopsy of the new kidney . Things are not exactly where they would like but it could be worse! Thanks in advance!!

I haven’t updated in a while it’s been a roller coaster for sure!! Today is day 12 post transplant! To say it hasn’t been hard is an understatement but each day gets better! My creatinine level finally moved this mornin which is what we wanted!! I have to go to the hospital daily around 6am to have bloodwork drawn to check my levels. I will be havin a kidney biopsy Friday morning if u would keep me in your prayers bc I do have to be put to sleep bc I have to be on my stomach and there’s no way u less I’m sedated! Hopefully things are starting to move in the right direction! I’ve been sick to my stomach for two days not sure if I’ve caught something or if it’s the 30 meds in the am and 30 meds in the pm that’s causing it! Just wanted to give a small update! Still a long way to go but it is getting easier! Thank you for all the continued prayers!

Ok friends I’m having some hurdles here due to new diet I’m havin to follow !! I’m having to take masssive amounts of steroids which makes my blood sugar crazy!!! And I’m havin a really hard time figuring out how to count all the carbs and be careful to keep my sugar in check! In the mornin I’m super low and. At nite super high!! Can anyone give me some insight to counting carbs easier or keto diet or low carb ?? Currently they want me to have 4 carbs per meal !! Which isn’t much!! Any help please?!!

Just a little update! I’m day 4 post transplant! I have been able to walk finally small strides! The pain is really bad some days. Able to eat a little! There’s a lot to absorb and take in. Lots and lots of meds to take! Today has been a day of no feeling good and wet not sure why they’ve done a wkg and some blood work just checking things out. I have. Long hard recovery ahead of me! Please keep me and my family in your prayers as we meet new challenges. I’m very grateful for the ones whom have laid name before the almighty Lord!!!
