Alert! We are seeing a significant amount of strep throat, bronchitis, and severe allergies in our area. With many cases of seasonal allergies severe enough to warrant prescription medications. This mix of illnesses makes it difficult to determine what your symptoms are from, how to treat them, and when to come in. Therefore, we felt it was important to let everyone know what we are seeing. A great message for this wintry weekend. We will just add this- if you are in a mental health "storm", please reach out to us. We are here to help, and believe in creating a plan for your health WITH you (not just for you), and personalized to your preferences and situation.

As Minnesotans prepare for what will be the biggest snowstorm of the season, as most of us will see over a foot of snow by Sunday afternoon , I’ve been thinking about storms in a different way:

Storms don’t ask permission.
They just arrive.

Life can feel like that sometimes too.

Especially when you struggle with mental health, as I’ve shared with you over the years.

Some days feel bright and calm.
Other days… the storm rolls in fast.

Heavy.
Cold.
Overwhelming.

But here’s what living in Minnesota teaches us:

Storms pass.

Always.

The sky clears.
The roads get plowed.
The sun eventually comes back out.

Mental health storms are the same.

If you’re in the middle of one right now… please remember this:

You are not alone.
And this storm will not last forever.

Take care of yourself.
Check on someone you love.
And as we ride out this snowstorm together later today through Sunday—

Remember that even the longest winters eventually turn to spring…yes, even here!

Stay safe. Stay warm. And take care of your mental health. ❤️

Please note, the Winnebago Office will be closed Tuesday, February 24 for required periodic education and testing to renew our OSHA and CAOHC certification for audiometry (hearing tests).

Our Janesville Clinic will remain open regular hours and can be reached at 507-234-6161.

Appointments are available in Winnebago Monday and Wednesday and voicemail will be available Tuesday if you would like to leave a message to be returned Wednesday. Due to the intensity of the training and recertification testing schedule, I will not be able to monitor or reply to emails Tuesday but will respond as soon as possible on Wednesday.

We apologize for the inconvenience as we recertify to continue to serve our communities in this capacity. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. We appreciate you all!
