Going the extra mile for our patients!
At Franklin Medical Center, we are proud to have leaders like April Winborne, our Director of Nursing, who embody what makes our hospital different.
Recently featured in The Franklin Sun, April went above and beyond to help a cancer patient whose treatment options were running out. When faced with complications that many rural hospitals might not be equipped to solve, April refused to give up. She connected with a national vascular access expert, traveled more than 1,000 miles with her patient to ensure the procedure was performed, and brought that knowledge back home to FMC.
Today, because of her determination, this life-changing vascular access procedure is now available right here in Franklin Parish. That means patients don’t have to leave their community to receive advanced, innovative care.
This story has already gained national attention—a recent podcast even highlighted how the procedure was completed, recorded, and is now offered at FMC.
April’s commitment shows exactly who we are: a hospital that will go the extra mile so our patients can keep living their lives. 💙
We couldn’t be more proud of April and of the level of care she has brought home to Franklin Parish.
