Two-thirds of blindness and visual impairments world wide occur in women. Hormonal fluctuations, longer life expectancy, and autoimmune conditions make women more susceptible to eye diseases. Make sure that you are taking the correct steps towards protecting your eyes with routine eye exams, healthy lifestyle, and using protective eyewear.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is an age-related condition that causes gradual loss of central vision and often develops without early symptoms. AMD is the leading cause of vision loss in adults 60 and older. Another reason to the importance of year eye exams!

Have you noticed that two or three team members help you even before you take a seat for your eye exam with Dr. Robeson or Dr. Dunham? Individually and collectively, the Robeson Family Vision Center staff are dedicated to creating a welcoming, respectful, and skillfully delivered eye health care experience that reflects the Vision Source Gold Standard. We are deeply grateful for every member of our team - past and present - who has helped make that experience possible.

In this 1983 photo, Lane joined his father, Dr. Glen Robeson, on his annual eye-health rounds at several Indigenous community clinics across their home state of South Dakota. Glenn remained Lane's most trusted (though long-distance) consultant until his passing in 1996 at the age of 65.

Grateful for the years they had together and reminded how short life can be, Lane chose to protect his own work-life balance and moved the practice to the family farmstead.

Who remembers when an eye exam at RFVC came with a dozen (or two!) farm-fresh eggs to take home for free?🤣🐣
