Wow, what a wild ride! The Bank of America Chicago Marathon expo was the largest expo I've ever seen and the energy was intense! Race day started out great. I was ready early and feeling pumped! I started the race too fast but was feeling great...until I didn't. Unfortunately, my knees gave out and I was in tremendous pain even with walking by half way. I was really disappointed, but decided to listen to my body and pulled out after hitting 13.1 miles. I'm still not doing well (couple days later), so a lot of PT and rehab are ahead for me. I would love to make promises of coming back next year, but for now, I'm going to allow my body to tell me when I'm ready. Thank you for coming along this journey with me!
