Did you know that the East End Recreation Center has a Care Closet that you can donate items to or use to access items to meet basic needs?

The Care Closet at the East Recreation Center could use a little restocking for summer! The Care Closet has personal care, food and school supply items available for community members as needed.

Current high need items include microwaveable rice or noodle sides, jelly, peanut butter, toilet paper, paper plates, paper towels, deodorant, razors, shampoo and conditioner.

Items can be dropped off at the East Recreation Center Monday-Friday from 8am-7pm. Questions can be directed to Recreation Coordinator Ali at amayer@winonamn.gov or (507) 429-5819

Congratulations!

Recently, caregivers from Winona Health attended the Minnesota Rural Health Association Conference, where Jackie Henderson, manager of the Winona Community HUB, was recognized as an Emerging Rural Health Leader—a well-deserved honor that reflects her passion for connecting people to care and resources.

Vanessa Southworth, our Community Wellbeing Director, also shared her expertise in a presentation with the Minnesota Department of Health on “The CHW Role in Statewide Health Equity: Implementation and Funding Models in Rural Areas.”

Their leadership and dedication are making a meaningful impact not just here in Winona but across rural Minnesota. We’re proud to be part of the movement to build stronger, healthier communities, together.
