REMEMBER: If they're telling you it'll take a couple of months to receive your wheelchair, powerchair, or whatever was prescribed but you need that piece of equipment now, you can always purchase it and get reimbursed later. Just make sure your provider's prescription was dated BEFORE or on the same day as the purchase. I understand it can be pricy. I will work with you during these hard times.

This bill is on competitive bidding. Look into it. Keep an eye on it. A quick look.
WHAT'S GOOD.
An attempt to cut down on insurance fraud. Some of you have heard of even been a victim. You may have gotten a back brace in the mail without seeing your doctor.
WHAT'S BAD.
-Bidder doesn't even need to be near that area which means you cannot look or try on the equipment you're receiving.
-Reduced patient access and quality of care.
-Flawed auction methodology. Lowest bidder wins. You may not receive quality equipment.
-Administrative burden. Extra paperwork will slow down the process for you receiving that piece of equipment meaning, longer wait times.
