🚨 Surgeon Spotlight 🚨
Dr. Dennis joined Salem Surgical Associates in August 2022. He first developed an interest in medicine when he was in high school because he had a lot of sports-related injuries, which required surgery. When he observed how the surgical team, nursing staff, and physical therapist took care of him through his long rehabilitation, he immediately knew he wanted to become a doctor and help others in the same way. He grew up doing carpentry, home remodeling, and other woodworking, which made surgery the obvious choice for specialty once he began medical school. He was drawn to surgery because he loves working with his hands, problem-solving, the evolving technology of surgery, and the ability to fix something that is broken. He stays up to date with the most current technological advances in order to provide his patients with the best possible care. Through the extensive robotic and complex laparoscopic surgery techniques that he learned during his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, he can offer his patients minimally invasive surgical options, which result in less pain and a quicker and smoother recovery. During his training and career, he was awarded the administrative chief resident position and Wendell M. Levi Jr MD Award for Surgical Leadership. He has also been honored as an ESPN Academic All-American Nominee while he was playing Quarterback at Catawba College during his undergraduate years. In his free time, he is a family man first and foremost. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Faith, and their 3 young children Madelyn, Charlotte, and Miller. Their children keep them quite busy with swimming, gymnastics, and soccer practices. As a native of Durham, he is an avid Duke fan. He also enjoys supporting Catawba College in nearby Salisbury, where he played football as an undergrad. His family and him love the beach, especially Charleston, SC where they spent 5 years during his residency training. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Dennis, call 336-765-5221.
