Simply Therapy provides speech and language therapy services to children of all ages with a variety of speech and/or language delays and disorders.

Services are provided in our Winston-Salem and Kernersville clinics. Simply Therapy offers family based services that address the speech, language, feeding and myofunctional needs of the WHOLE child. We are passionate about intervening early, addressing core concerns, and giving clients and their families confidence and support during their journey to more effective communication. Communication is essential to social and emotional growth, developing and maintaining meaningful relationships, learning, and functioning independently in the community. We hope to be a part of your journey.

Both ▶Speech & Language Screenings & ▶Evaluations are valuable tools in empowering parents, caregivers and teachers to make the very best decisions for the child in their life.

At Simply Therapy, we provide on-site screenings in local preschools, play spaces or any place parents and children gather. We also provide them in our family friendly offices located in Winston-Salem and Kernersville. These are low cost, quick, and help parents get some of their most pressing questions answered directly by pediatric speech language pathologists.

We also provided full speech, language, feeding and myofunctional evaluations in both our offices. These comprehensive evaluations will help parents better understand their child's strengths and needs, provide a formal diagnosis (or formally rule out one) and enable the speech language pathologist to develop an individualized treatment plan to address the child's needs and improve their communication and/or feeding skills.

This month, we are pumped to start heading out in our community to provide on-site screenings at some of our favorite local preschools and play spaces!

Does your child's preschool offer speech and language screenings? If not, ask them WHY? And then send them our way. We do our best to make this process super easy for the preschool, informative for the teachers and empowering for the parents.

We have more availability this fall in late September and late October! It's not too late to get them scheduled at your preschool, mom's group, kids play space, or somewhere else!

also....that's probably not how it happened 😉

If you have any concerns about your child's speech and language skills, PLEASE seek help early and do not listen to that family member that assures you that your child is 'fine', despite your own mom-gut (or dad-gut) telling you otherwise.

Here's why:

1. The earlier a child's delay or disorder is identified and treated, the sooner they can receive the intervention they need. This yields the VERY BEST outcomes for your child.

2. Early intervention means many delays and disorders can be remediated PRIOR to your child starting kindergarten.

3. The sooner treatment begins, the faster the child generally progresses through their treatment and is ready for discharge.

4. Maybe your child is totally fine and no intervention is needed at all! Now you can rest easy knowing that your child's development is age appropriate and no action is needed.

In all scenarios, a speech & language screening or evaluation will empower parents with actual clinical information that will enable them to make the very best decisions for their child. And isn't that what all parents want?

📚Calling all early readers!! Are you looking for a safe, non-judgmental, cozy and creative way to practice your reading?

This opportunity would be ideal for our friends in the Homeschool Community!

🐾Join Millie, our Therapy-Dog-in-Training, for an individual 20 minute reading session in our Kernersville office!

This event is free and open to all members of our community. Bring a book or borrow one of ours!

Each child will have a cozy place to sit and read next to Millie. They may interact with her as much or as little as they prefer. Millie's owner will be present at all times.

Starting next week, you'll notice a new face around our Winston Salem office.
Laura McCall, MA, CCC-SLP will be joining our team as a full time SLP!

Laura graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. She earned her Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Over the last four years of clinical practice, Laura obtained diverse experience evaluating and treating pediatric language, speech sound, fluency, and social communication disorders, and implementing AAC. She is passionate about engaging kids in fun, play-based therapy and empowering families to support their child’s communication skill development. In her spare time, she enjoys drinking coffee, reading, walking her dog, Winnie, and spending time with her family.

Please help us make Laura feel welcome when you see her!

📚First up is Triad Moms on Main's Back to School Bash- THIS SUNDAY from 12-3 at Come see Shawna, Rachel & Amalie as we kick of a great school year with this family event!

🤰In October, we'll be joining on Saturday, 10/18, for their annual Pregnant in the Piedmont event at Novant Medical Center. If you are expecting or if you have young children, this event is WILD and CRAZY and FULL of great resources for your family!

💛💙Then on Oct 25th, we'll have a Resource Table table at annual Buddy Walk at West Forsyth High School. Bethany and Amalie can't wait to connect with some old and new friends at this incredibly fun family event!
